If you are teaching or learning EKG's this is not the book for you! Although this book is initially inviting because of the color (it is much easier to measure strips on colored ECG paper) the measurements in the back are wrong in the appendix and are confusing to learners. This book also does not have "beginning" strips to learn, or typical strips for that matter. There are limited examples (50) to identify and that is NOT sufficient for learning ECG's. With the price of this book I would highly suggest another choice...any choice for that matter.

This book was mandatory for our nursing class so I didn't have a choice. It will give you the basics on how to identify various strips, but it didn't seem to "teach" me the inner workings of how to read an EKG strip. I had to get my classmates to show me exactly where to find things, such as an ST elevation, on real strips because real strips are the perfect strips you see in the book.

Ok this is the book to use if you are a novice, ER Tech, EMS or just plain bored.
Excellent in its simplicity of explaining the EKG charts and warning signs that are revealed in EKG graphs.
It may even help you to maintain your own cardiac health. If you study A&P you need this book.

Book is in great condition. No damage, page perfectly intact, and scratchless. Everything you expect from a new book.

Excellent Product--Very well written with ample practice and questioning techniques. Highly Recommended for gaining a strong basis in this field.

I enjoyed this book, but it is VERY basic. Good explanations but won't take you very far. I'll keep the book for a basic review or illustration to show others.
If you are looking for a similarly basic book, you may also try Gail Walraven's Basic Arrhythmias (6th Edition) in addition to this book. Walraven's book gives many more sample ECG strips for practice. And, it is similarly priced.

After reading these books, you could try Huzar's Basic Dysrhythmias: Interpretation and Management - Text and Pocket Reference Package (Revised Reprint) which is more advanced and takes you into much more detail.

Easy explination of the heart's processes and how they relate to what is on paper. Comprehensable approach to translation of rhythms.

This book is awesome. The chapters flow nicely from one to the next and the text is to the point and easy to understand. I would recommend this book to anyone interested in cardiac care.
