Very good book for those new to metallurgical failure analysis,

The book covers the basics and does a really good job of summarizing many of the complicated topics discussed in the ASM handbook for failure analysis. I suggest getting this book if you are just starting out because it is written in plain english you can understand, however be aware that it is not a replacement for the ASM handbook volume 11.
