The book is well laid out and easy to follow but the "Review of the Literature" section was not helpful. A large part of evidence-based practice is learning how to search the research databases and analyzing the articles retreived. This is glossed over at best. The search examples within the text were way too basic (Who searches on just the word "coping" ?) This section is in desperate need of a research librarian's input.

Nursing research is a rather dry topic, and therefore difficult to study unless you're really interested. This book (and the accompanying CD-ROM)make understanding all the jargon and concepts more palatable and user-friendly.

This book is well written, contains everything a nurse would want regarding critiqueing either a qualitative research paper or a qualitative research study. it is a plus for any professional's library.

This provides everything a nursing student wanting to do look up research that's evidence based. It's easy to read and follow.

This book was informative and easy to read. Came in better condition than I realized, except no CD which was ok. Didn't need it anyway. I recommend if your in a nursing research class, and need to buy this book, do so. It was of great help to me.

This book was really hard to read. The class itself wasn't exactly titillating, and this book just added to the agony.

I took research for a different science degree before I started nursing, so I was lucky enough to have seen a lot of this information presented in a clearer way. When I started going through this book, I was surprised by how needlessly complicated they made everything! I think this is the reason so many people dislike research. It's already a pretty dry subject, and this book is neither 'straighforward' nor 'reader-friendly' (as it claims on the back cover).

The only reason this textbook got 2 stars was that there was some nursing-specific information that I couldn't find elsewhere, and the prof. took most of the quiz questions directly from the text.

I bought this book on the advice of my professor. It was not the book that the college sent for our class. This book is so much better for nursing research than the one that came with our class. I have pretty much read the book from front to back already and the course isn't even half over. I have also been able to utilize the book in my Nursing Capstone. It has been extremely useful. Recommend it highly to anyone taking Nursing Research who gets a different book for class. It was well worth it!

You will need this book to complete this class but other than that you will never use it or refer to it again. Nothing in it will appear on Hesi or NCLEX. This is just a busy work book for a busy work class. Happy reading

I ordered this item on 9/24 and received it on 10/19. I think this is very unacceptable. I ordered a book the same week i received this one from amazon and received it before i did this book. This the first time it has ever taken this long for me or my friends that order off of here to receive any book.
