Understanding Photography -- a fading art,
By
This review is from: Understanding Photo (The New photo series ; 1) (Mass Market Paperback)
This book is look into a rapidly disappearing past -- the world of film photography. Even as digital images sweep across the hobby and profession of photography, books like this one are still essential for understanding what goes on in the camera as well as in front of the camera. Carl Shipman's work stands out as excellent examples of how to master taking good photos, whether with a film camera or digital. This book is a worthwhile investment, especially in the older versions which emphasize composition in conjuction with the technology of the photograph itself.
