Ken Ham caught my attention with the debate. People in my church thought he could have used a few more uppercuts to make his points land home. When I watched it, I could see that his issue wasn't winning the debate but was using the forum to sow the seed of the word. I ordered "Understanding the Times" to get more insight into the man and came away with strategic insight about the spiritual battles we fight. The issue has been "the word of God" ever since Darwin's ideas became a wedge to separate the believer from total confidence in that word. That is why Ken Ham fights the battle of the integrity of Genesis. Ken, keep fighting the good fight.
On a side note, I was in school after reading the book, with some 6th graders who were studying the Declaration of Independence. They were asked to define, in their own words, who "the Supreme Judge of the world" was. Most wrote Supreme Judge, along with some congresses, supreme court and King of England. Not one of them could recognize that the Declaration was referring to God. "Understanding the Times" became very real at that moment.
