This material is very grade appropriate, user friendly, and a great start for writing with your elementary children. It is definately "Christ Centered" as the Author says. It will help get your children writing, help them learn to write with a more uplifting focus, and help them learn the basics in sentence and various types of paragraphs, and letter organization. It does provide simple easy to remember grammar lessons which apply as you increase in your writing skills, but it is a writing course. The use of the "Pet" Sheet was very helpful to get the children to focus on their audience, come up with a good opening sentence, and proceed to develop their topic. I used it up through 6th grade and coupled ABeka Grammar with it at the 6th grade level.
