About the Author
Mikel A. Rothenberg, MD, is a board-certified internal medicine specialist with a special interest in critical care and emergency medicine. He has served as an ICU/CCU director as well as physician advisor for both air and ground ambulance services. Dr. Rothenberg has written several medical and legal books, numerous journals articles, and an ACLS computer software program. He served as the executive editor of ACLS Alert, and currently writes an advanced cardiac life support column on the internet (Merginet). Dr. RothenbergÂ’s forte is putting complex topics into "plain English." This skill, combined with over 25 years of medical practice and 15 years of medicolegal consultation, makes his teaching both informative and enjoyable for a wide variety of audiences. A strong advocate of personal growth and self-esteem building, Dr. Rothenberg speaks internationally, presenting courses on "plain English" medical topics. He is the recipient of the 1998-1999 Excellence in Education award from PESI Healthcare.

Rarely does one find a medical book that is so easy to comprehend, yet the reader gains immediately-useful knowledge; heretofore such practicality was unknown in radiology.The background information is superbly presented, so that the reader can effortlessly and quickly make his way through the simplified presentation. So delightful is this large-format, profusely illustrated text, that the reader finds it more recreational than didactic, learning all the way. This "plain English"(author's words) approach is THE way to understand X-rays. I wish it were available when I was in training. Highly reccommend!

This book gives a simple overview of some common x-rays and helps to clarify their meanings.... literally in plain English! If you have read Dubin's Rapid Interpretation of EKG's and liked it, then you would love this book. It is set up similarly. It's an easy read and there are tests at the end for review. I highly recommend it!
