OK, let's admit it, sometimes the Bible can be a little daunting. The author makes it very clear that this book is not designed as a substitute for reading the Bible. This book is written in a way to help you get the most out of your Bible reading. Divided in to forty chapters of approx. 15 minutes each, this book will provide answers to many, many questions. Reading this book will give you a good grounding in the Christian faith - a solid foundation.
What are some examples of questions answered in this book? (To list all forty would make this an essay, not a review!)
Where in the Bible can I learn ( and teach others) how to be saved? This is an excellent chapter discussing:
i)The Intention - How God originally created humans and the close, intimate relationship He wanted with us.
ii)The Problem (The Fall) The author describes us to be "like carnival mirrors that reflect a distorted and twisted image.
iii)The Solution - God is just which means He is fair and has to deal rightly with sinful people. However He also loves us and that is why He sent Jesus to die on the cross for us. All we have to do is accept His free gift by believing/trusting in Him.
iv)The Result - Believing, trusting and relying on Jesus sets us free from the power of sin. Does that we will never sin? No, but now we live to please God and are able not to sin.
The historical books of the Bible are Joshua, Judges, Ruth, 1&2 Samuel, 1&2 Kings, 1&2 Chronicles. Chapter 10 explains what you will find in these books. At the end of this chapter the author makes note of the final books of history - Ezra, Nehemiah and Esther.Read more ›
