Don't stop here, this is just the beginning!, April 5, 2004
This review is from: Understanding Yourself and Others (Paperback)
Bill Riedler is an amazing guy. He studied with Rudolf Dreikurs, who was a student of Alfred Adler. Bill has taken the complexities of Individual Psychology and put them in terms and tools that are easy to use, and easy to understand. He also has built on this work to design several weekend courses that have given thousands of people a wonderful improvement in their lives, relationships, and sense of serenity. I highly recommend this book, and a tape series entitled, "The Tones That Lead To Love." Even more enthusiastically, I recommend taking a course in "Loving Yourself and Others" from Bill and Beth Rielder. I'm delighted that I did, and I'm happy to report that I use the tools I've learned from this man daily to improve the quality of my life, my marriage, my friendships, amd my spiritual experience!

This Book Completely Changed My Life!, October 4, 2011
This review is from: Understanding Yourself and Others (Paperback)
Riedler is genius. This is simple and concise, yet utterly profound. I was fortunate enough to take the Understanding Yourself and Others course after reading this gem, so I've personally met dozens of other people who have also read it; believe me, it will open your eyes, your mind, and your soul to a plethora of INVALUABLE knowledge which will create positive shifts in your life, too!
How? Consider how a simple "misunderstanding" can cause complete havoc and turn your world upside down. Now, ponder what it would be like if you actually understood the motivations and actions of everyone you deal with (including yourself). What was once bewildering suddenly makes complete sense and can be handled with ease!
Knowledge is power, and this book gives us incredible insight. With fascinating, yet easily understood ideas, and simple (and familiar) scenarios, we are given tools to easily and effectively shift our lives from havoc to harmony! This book transformed my life from a position of fear to one of freedom; filled with real personal power and the ability to really empower (through understanding) those around me.
I'm dissapointed with the reviewer who claims that Riedler "does not take his own advice," because he/she feels that Riedler did something wrong in a UYO courseroom. Riedler's "advice" in the very first chapter includes both "The Courage To Be Imperfect," as well as how "Mistakes are Valuable Training Tools." Riedler (personally and through his publications) was the first to admit that he himself made many mistakes, that we all do! He teaches how to be inspired by our mistakes rather than lament them and "beat ourselves up" over them.

Great book!, April 24, 2008
This review is from: Understanding Yourself and Others (Paperback)
I agree with the other review. The book is great, but even the author admits that it will only take you so far. If you really want to make a change in what you create in your life, get into the UYO course.
