Yep.,
By "blhurry" (Flagstaff, Arizona United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Underwater, Episode 1 (Audio CD)
Well I wrote a long descriptive review but they didn't like it I guess. I'll give you the jist.-It's not as light and funky as people make it out to be. There is that but both discs take a turn for the more intimate and serious; exactly what anyone would want from a good night out. -It blends some unique styles of house that are a refreshing break from what people traditionally call "Progressive house". Anyone see the irony in that? anyway. -I didn't like Emerson's GU releases but these two discs, in particularly disc 1, will be one of those compilations that I recall with good feelings a few years down the road. I can't say that for very many of the compilations that I pick up these days. What Deluxe and Emerson are doing here is breathing new life into EDM. Give it a listen, give it several listens. -I haven't been able to spot a tune I didn't like which is one of my criteriums for an excellent mix. It meets the other criteria as well. Enjoy.

Look out for ya'self,
This review is from: Underwater, Episode 1 (Audio CD)
For the most part, this is two disc set of progressive disco house. When I first made the purchase I listened to both sets completely. I'll be honest, Track 1 on the first cd (Emerson's set) has been ultimately set to repeat in my brain! This track has become my "backing out the garage and rolling to work" theme. Just a very good vibe to start the 2 disc set. So if you get this for anything, get it for track 1 called "Ya'self". I give it another week and it will be in my "Top 25" on my iPod!

Awesome tunes.... nothing more,

This review is from: Underwater, Episode 1 (Audio CD)
I have to admit, there are some really awesome tunes on both cd's. I don't think there's a track that i dont like. Although this is true, that's about as far as the CD goes. Some of the mixing makes me want to puke, and programming doesnt even exist in these discs. Emerson= good producer. not a good dj.
