little known gem!, June 28, 2008

I can't believe this recording is unavailable from ECM because it is an eye-opening picture of what these artists were playing early in 1971. Bobo Stenson, Arild Andersen and Jon Christensen. Being a big JC fan, I love to hear the big influence that Tony Williams had on JC's playing and here it's VERY evident. I love the compositions, the recording itself and the great playing. Possibly ECM is NOT happy with the recording quality??
It actually sounds more like an old Blue Note recording from Rudy Van Gelder than a Jan Erik Kongshaung ECM date. I give it 5 stars and hope ECM will make it available someday.
