Buy this if you like a mix between metal, rock, and goth/industrial,

Actually I rate this a 4.5, but no choices for half stars. Anyways, this is an overall nice cd with some pretty good melodies/riffs/singing that I love to listen to again and again. I really like about half the songs, but the other half are pretty mediocre (they kinda sound the same to me). My absolute favos are Lacuna Coil's Our Truth (one of the main reasons I bought this cd), Chester Bennington's Morning After, Slipknot's Vermillion pt.2, and Atreyu's Her Portrait in Black. My least favo is Mendozza's Eternal Battle. And I prefer MCR's original version of To the End to this remixed version. I think this soundtrack is as good and maybe even better than the first Underworld soundtrack.

Ample ass kicked on UNDERWORLD 2 Soundtrack!!,

Man, I thought they couldn't top themselves after the killer soundtrack to the first Underworld a couple years ago. But, daymn, did they pull it off again!
The premiere solo track from Linkin's Chester, first new Maynard track in 2 years, My Chemical Romance remix by Danny from Nine Inch Nails and Wes from Limp...the list just goes on and on! In fact, every song I hear is exclusive to this record. Kudos to the producers and all the artists that stepped up and recorded some of their best 'ish for Underworld:evolution!

Ok, when I first heard the album, i didn't care for it as much as original, but after seeing the movie, where the pucifer song "The undertaker" is used in the blood orgy sex scene, i started to like the album more and more, now after listening to the album 18 times (leterly) i like it as much as the first. On a whole, the songs are not as "dark" as in the first one, but the pucifer track is worth teh CD or download alone.

Usually I don't go for soundtracks. This one, however, is absolutely irresistable.
What it reminds me of is the kind of music my friends and I would listen to when we'd go clubbing in the early 90s... music reminiscent of NiN, Skinny Puppy, Frontline Assembly, and the like. It's dark music, absolutely suited for this movie. Since someone has already done a track by track breakdown, the only thing I can add is that if you're a fan of hard hitting music, and remixing/reworking, you'll enjoy this CD. It kind of reminds me of some of the songs on the "Queen of the Damned" soundtrack, one of three soundtracks that I own (present company included). My favorite song from that one is "Slept So Long" by Jay Gordon of "Orgy". The tone of that song reminds me of a lot of the songs on this one. Purchase with confidence! :)

Evolution theory of a soundtrack,

the movie set the tone, the soundtrack delivered the energy. when i first previewed the album on the underworld evolution myspace website, i was blown away by Atreyu's "Her Portrait in Black." that signifies everything the film is and captures the image of the lead character, Selene, in all her glory. there are some songs that shouldn't have been touched up or remixed. like MCR's remixing of "To The End," it's just an abomination. the overall mood of the album is directed towards gothic influenced/inspired music. not to say this album is a goth album, it's just driven that way because of the film. the opening track is hauntingly effective. the final track differs so much from the opening, that you can basically tell what's in the middle. this album was produced like a good book. the first and last tracks show you what the content it wraps around is going to be like. regardless of if you like screamo/metalcore/darkwave, this album will suit all your needs. Lakeshore Records released their best soundtrack to date.

This is an incredible album which sets the tone for other movies in the same genre. The only album I can think of that really sparkedmy interest in soundtracks is THE CROW soundtrack which was a CLASSIC.
This album resembles a nice complexity of sounds it was well produced and mixed.Ths standouts are>AIDAN-The Last Sunrise and PUCIFER which are both well done songs. The whole album is good from start to finish although the last song shoulve been avoided you can enjoy this album knowing the dark eerie melodic tones are well worth the buy. Great album if you into the production and mixing.

Great Movie...good soundtrack,

I'm a BIG fan of Underworld and both movies were Amazing. The only reason i thought this soundtrack as good is because it had alot of fast paced songs where as the first soundtrack had a more dark feel and more instrumental scaores. the album is still great especially Chester Bennington's Morning After (i'm a big lp fan) and Hawthorne Heights song. The soundtrakc is worth buying though so GO AND BUY IT.

When I first bought and listened to this album, I thought "hmmm, lots of 'emo-labeled' bands." That didn't stop me from enjoying this soundtrack though. I liked the first two songs on this soundtrack quite a bit at first, but they got pretty old.
However, I loved Hawthorne Heights's remixed "Where Can I Stab Myself In the Ears" (my friend loved it, too), Aiden's "Last Sunrise" (which had a lot of references to Anne Rice's Interview With The Vampire), Lacuna Coil's "Our Truth" (have since became a fan of theirs), Atreyu's "Her Portrait is Black," and Cradle of Filth's "HW2"/"Halloween." Oh, I also liked Trivium's "Washing Away Me In The Tides," Senses Fail's "Bite To Break Skin," and Slipknot's "Vermillion pt 2." So, pretty much the producers took good songs and made them even better. I think I just named 8 of the 16 songs as being favorites, not to mention the other songs weren't bad. What does that say to you? So, I guess that 4 is actually more like a 4.5.
