"Epic Music" indeed,

If you know E.S. Posthumus, then you have little business reading this. If you so much as think you'd like this album, go for it; it's highly unlikely you'll be disappointed.
For those who have yet to see the light, the samples represent the music well. That said, I discovered E.S. Posthumus through Pandora, and grew to love every moment of their music. Most of my other music is stuff like the Halo soundtracks and film scores, so if you're into those, this is a sure-buy. I would describe this as "Epic Music," like the type of music I like to claim I enjoy. Tracks range from sort of techno-y (Antissa, Tikal) to full out, powerful choral/instrumental (Harappa, Ebla). Overall, though, each track contains a variety of instruments, from strings and brass to electronic instruments; Nineveh may well be the most integrated of them all. Some are a bit "heavier" than others (Menouthis, Pompeii), and there are a few "easygoing" tracks as well (Ulaid, Isfahan, Cuzco). All in all, if you're interested in epic-sounding music that incorporates swathes of instruments, this is the album (and artist!) for you.

I purchased this album back in September 09, this was one of the best music buys I've ever made. Every track on this album is exquisite, the tracks range greatly in terms of mood. Some will get your blood pumping and others can be absolutely relaxing. (Cuzco being the perfect example) Simply put, E.S. Posthumus is one of the best musical groups I've heard. From someone who was becoming bored with music, this album rejuvenated my taste and love for the music industry. I strongly recommend this for anyone who just loves amazing music.

Not a bad track in the whole lot.....
I'm a total E.S. Posthumus newbie, just stumbled upon this album while looking through albums and I'm SO glad I bought this. If you like "Enigma"-esque type of music, choirs and electronica beats intertwined, you have GOT to pick this up. Really fantastic and surprisingly relaxing.

E.S. Posthumus has BOXED themselves into a problem. How can they EVER equal or top their FIRST CD "Unearthed"? They now have 3 CDs including "Cartographer" & "Makara" but it is "Unearthed" that remains the PINNACLE of their work. This CD can give you Goose Bumps!
The music is THAT GOOD! Totally haunting & unforgettable compositions. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Definitely quality music, good 'movie' music with enough action, but not too hectic, nice beats, quality stuff. And not too dark an atmosphere, some 'mystery' or depth, but overall...kind of 'up'.

I've never heard anything quite like E.S. Posthumus before. Once bitten, I had to let everyone I know about them. I don't want to spoil the fun you will have in experiencing them. All I can suggest is that you make sure you have solid speakers, as you will find yourself moving the volume up the more you listen. :)

I consider this the best "EPIC HALO LAN PARTY MUSIC" of all time. I just like like fragging my buddies with this in the background it just keeps you amped up. I found this via Pandora(if you are not using Pandora then why are you reading this?) and I then tried to get the album but it was not available till recently and I really have to say it has a great feel with the balance of classical with guitars and that old euro feel along with some Rock. I think if you like the Halo soundtrack then this is for you. It is a great sound for driving or for fragging your buddies. Classical that is shall I say it, mucho macho!
