This review is from: The Unexpected: Artists' Ceramics of the 20th Century (Hardcover)
I am a ceramic artist/potter and while studying art history it was very interesting to find some of the great artists also worked in clay. This book shows a great representation of the work they produced and explains the relationship the artist had with the work moving from paint to clay. It is a fascinating book and raised many questions. One being that some of the work is very basic, and if you didn't know who had made it would it be as good as you perceive it to be if you didn't know who the artist is?
