Editorial Reviews

Review

"This story is a delicious confection from start to finish, with a delightful pair of protagonists, and a wonderfully quirky cast of secondary characters. Add in one of the most spectacularly gorgeous settings - The Canadian Rockies in snowy winter - and the stage is set for a little bit of fairytale romance."

"Captivating! I read this in the sunshine in Cuba and was mesmerized by the descriptions of the mountains, the snow and the emotion."

From the Author

Dear Reader,

I hope you enjoy this seasonal escape to one of my favorite places, The Canadian Rocky Mountains. I've always felt the mountains are magical in their ability to soothe, inspire and heel. And I believe that wonderful things can happen when you're surrounded by their beauty. Including the magic of falling in love.
To me, there is nothing more special than spending the holiday season surrounded by snow, pine trees and the towering peaks of the Rockies.
It is truly my wish that you enjoy this little escape and fall in love with Castle Mountain Lodge during the majestic winter season.

~Elena

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Holiday Read January 26, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
I really loved this romantic novel. It is always wonderful to think that in real life this could happen just like the author is telling the story. I think it does actually sometime and that is what give us all hope for the main character as she tries to escape her real life for the Christmas vacation only to find love in all the right places.
I live in south Florida and loved the snowy scenes, making it feel like the Christmas season even though it was warm enough to turn on our air conditioning. The description of the resort made me feel in the mood. The cover pulled me in and the story didn't let me down.

4.0 out of 5 stars Flirty, frozen fun! November 21, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Amazon Verified Purchase
This story is a delicious confection from start to finish, with a delightful pair of protagonists, and a wonderfully quirky cast of secondary characters. Add in one of the most spectacularly gorgeous settings - The Canadian Rockies in snowy winter - and the stage is set for a little bit of fairytale romance. There is outdoor ice skating and hot chocolate around a bonfire! There is a hot tub! There are Christmas trees and Santa and starry-eyed tykes. And there is love, or at least there is the very strong indication of True Love. I ripped through this story in less than a day, and wished it had gone on much longer.

More About the Author

In no particular order, I am: a writer, a mother of twins, a swimmer, a wife, a volunteer, a runner, a friend, a triathlete, a daughter, a sister, a Brownie leader (recently retired), an auntie, a cyclist, employee and...

I'm trying to do it all and have it all because nobody said I couldn't. And even if they did, I probably wouldn't listen because I'm too busy.

I've been writing in one form or another since elementary school but although I always knew I wanted to be a writer when I grew up, instead I earned university degrees in Marketing and Psychology and writing got put on the back burner. After my twins were born I was buried in diaper changes, middle of the night feedings and mountains of laundry, so obviously it seemed like a logical time to start writing again. I guess it took me while to grow up.

I turned to non-fiction and became a regular contributor to local parenting magazines, published in four Chicken Soup for the Soul anthologies, and a compilation by Seal Press. It wasn't until 2005 that I tried my hand at writing fiction and wrote my first novel (at least since I was a kid). It's buried on my hard drive where it should be! And I just keep writing them. Nothing Stays In Vegas was the first novel that I've made available.

Besides my novels, you can read my work in:
Chicken Soup for the Brother and Sisters' Soul
Chicken Soup for the Runner's Soul
Chicken Soup for the Beach Lover's Soul
Chicken Soup: Christmas Magic
Chicken Soup: Hooked on Hockey
How to Put a Car Seat on a Camel
