This review is from: Unexpected Husband (Wedlocked) (Harlequin Presents) (Paperback)
Lydia is concerned about the man that her sister is seeing. She is afraid that he is going to hurt her, so she goes to speak to Joe herself. The first thing that he asks her is if she wants to sleep with him. She knows that her sister Daisy should stay away from this character, but her sister informs her that her biological clock is ticking and she wants Joe to be the father of her child. Lydia is shocked, but tells her sister to try to play hard to get instead of falling in his lap. Her sister agrees and both sisters say goodbye. Lydia is going to an Australlian Cattle Ranch to temporarily fill in for the vet there and Daisy is going on a music tour.Lydia gets to the ranch only to discover that Joe owns half of it and that he has decided to stay on while she is there. He has made it very clear that she is the sister that he wants. Lydia has all kinds of obstacles in her way, her sister for one and her past for another. The story of Joe and Lydia is strange. There are a lot of layers to this very short story. Interesting, Exciting, no not really. Mostly the reader is just peeling back the different layers, examining them, and than tossing them aside until the next one is there. The reader can see the end result, its just a matter of getting there. I found no real reason to like the characters. I found Lydia to be bossy and inconsiderate at times. I thought Joe was a wimp at times. He was to quick to apologize for everything and he always seemed to give into Lydia. I am not sure I would recommend investing time and money into this book.

The unbelievable Characters,

This review is from: Unexpected Husband (Wedlocked) (Harlequin Presents) (Paperback)
I agree with reviewer Jennifer. The characters were unbelievable. Linda is nosey, combative, hard, no-it-all, controlling, insulting (I can go on forever) and behaved like she's 50 instead of 26. I can't stand people like Linda. Ms. Armstrong, please, please, please, never write about characters Like Linda and Joe anymore.Linda and Brad were married for about a year when he died. Brad has been dead for nearly 6 years. Linda is what? 26 years old? So how can she say she has had the most perfect marriage in the world? You would think Brad is a Saint. For goodness sakes, they were teens just getting to know each other before he died. I was so tired of hearing Brad this, St. Brad that. By the time I got through half of the book I was so fed up about the perfect Brad that I wanted to put the book down. I don't even want to talk about Joe's character. But hey, I paid for the book so I finished reading it. The ending wasn't that great either. I wanted to give this 1.5 stars.

Lydia's sister Daisy has decided she wants Joe Jordan to be the father of her baby. Lydia decides to visit him to warn him what Daisy wants. Lydia thinks there must be something between them, although Joe says they are only friends.Lydia is covering for a friend on a cattle station. It is owned by a sister, her husband & her brother. The brother being Joe. Lydia doesn't know this when she agrees to help for 6 weeks. Although Joe says there is nothing in his relationship with Daisy, Lydia feels guilty for her developing feelings for Joe. Her guilt is especially hard on her because of her deceased husband Brad. She feels unloyal to his memory.
