I have always enjoyed writing stories in Science Fiction, Fantasy, and Horror. I can remember my 5th grade class would have writing contests over the year. My work was read out loud to the class a few times. (I wish I still had some of those stories.) Later in high school, my English classes incorporated computers and writing through the year (not all stories, but enough to get me hooked on writing with computers).

One of my favorite authors is Robin McKinley. I love her novels 'Hero and the Crown', 'The Blue Sword', and 'Beauty'.

To my shame, I don't have time to read a lot (yeah, I know, already said shame on me) so I watch a lot of movies and shows. In TV, I love Heroes, Lost, Doll House, Damages, V, Legend of the Seeker, NCIS, and a lot more. Most recent movies have been Zombieland, UP, Transformers 2, Watchmen, and Wolverine. I also love zombie movies, not the gore and mayhem, but what people will do to survive.

My first novel is Retrospect (Sci-Fi published in 2000) and my second Unexplained Unexpected (horror a.k.a. The Florida House #1 also published in 2000). My third novel is Beauty of the Beast #1 the Mystic Rose (fantasy published 2005).

In 2007 I published the first book of the Shades of Gray Series (science fiction/ mystery/ action adventure). Currently there are six books in the series with 3 books expected to come out each year. The series is expected to be over 30. Lists of Shades of Gray.

This book, The Unexpected The Unexplained: Vampires, is another spine-tingling adventure from new author Kristie Lynn Higgins. The characters in this book, especially Lily, invite you to get involved with them. They are real three dimensional people with real emotions, and they call forth a definite emotional response. In spite of these facts this is also not a book you want to read late at night when you are by yourself. Miss Higgins has created another must-read for the horror fanatic. Her twists and turns will keep you guessing until the end.

Great beginning to a series. This book holds its own. I laughed my head off in some parts. I'd call this a cross between Buffy and the X-Files. It had its dark moments and its light. Great charaters. I've never read a story, besides Star Trek, that had a Klingon as one of its characters. Can't wait for the next one. Love it! Let's ash some vamps!

Unexplained, Unexpected is awesome! The characters are quirky and relatable, they are so funny. A paranoid man named Dr. Doubt, a Star Trek fanatic, and a woman with a hidden past make up just part of the team in this amazingly funny and creepy story. A must read!
