5.0 out of 5 stars Great CD to relate to
I, as a big fan of Emma Roberts, I was quite disappointed with this CD the first time I heard it. It seemed immature and pointless to me. Until I kept hearing it, and now I honestly can't get enough. I don't understand how a short CD like this could be so addicting. I make sure I bring it everywhere with me. There is only 3 songs I don't really like which is 'Punch...

3.0 out of 5 stars Not bad
When i saw this CD, i thought it would be along the lines of Christy Carlson Romano's CD. And i was right - it is. Except it's better. Emma Roberts sounds good considering the stuff was recorded when she was 14. Some songs are better than others, of course. "Dummy" is probably the best one. But songs like "I Have Arrived" and "This is Me" are also great. "Say Goodbye To...

There is only 3 songs I don't really like which is 'Punch Rocker', '94 Weeks (Metal Mouth Freak)', and 'New Shoes'. The beat to 'Punch Rocker' is good and catchy, but what the song is about isn't very "relative". '94 Weeks' is a really good song if it was about something else. And 'New Shoes', eh, never listen to it. But, 'Say Goodbye To Jr. High' is an amazing song! Favorite song off the record. I related to some of the lyrics rather then what its about. When she says, "We had a good time, now we'll have a good life.", I see that as a good positive thing to relate to. I see it as moving on from losing someone you love, and remembering the good times and thinking about your life and how it ISN'T over. Maybe that is just me. And also, "You know I'll be missing you one day." Makes me get tear eyed, I dunno why, but it does. I altogether absolutely love this CD.

I Wanna Be - 9/10, very catchy and is kind of just a fun song.

Punch Rocker - 6/10, not the best because of what it's about, but it's catchy.

Say Goodbye To Jr. High - 10/10, completey catchy, sweet and addicting.

I have Arrived - 10/10, catchy and a good song.

94 Weeks (Metal Mouth Freak) - 8/10, not good for what it's about, but love the tune.

This Is Me - 10/10, fun and carefree.

Dummy - 10/10, very good song! I listen to it all the time!

Mexican Wrestler - 9/10, slow but funny and cute.

We Are Gonna Happen - 10/10, love it!

New Shoes - 4/10, eek!

4.0 out of 5 stars Pretty good, June 15, 2006

I like the CD, the most I like "Dummy". The songs are good, some have funny lyrics, others are typical-day stuff.
Her voice isn't the best however, it still sounds a little childlish (okay- she was 14, but still).
It's a great CD for kids and teens but nothing for adults...

4.0 out of 5 stars Energy, Humor and Irony, September 29, 2005
The thing to remember about this album is that it is mostly songs written for a comedy show-- in other words, these songs are meant to make you LAUGH, not hold a lighter up in the air, and that they do. Emma Roberts nicely satirizes the teen-diva pop sound with energy and enthusiasm. (And YES, much of this album is satire.) Songs like "New Shoes" and "Say Goodbye To Jr. High" are fierce odes to silly subjects. "94 Weeks" and "Mexican Wrestler" are ballads to such important issues as braces and the sweet desire to toss someone on their ear. There is nice irony in the song "Dummy" as Emma sings about 'not wanting to be your dummy' while the music buries her voice and her singing gets flattened out into mechanical repetition.
More amusing irony is found in the song "This Is Me" that proclaims individuality while sounding like a duet.
There is a glut of young teen female singers out there and Emma Roberts places herself bravely in the mix by doing a comedic (though also rockin') parody of many pop sounds and cliches. She is obviously an actress first and I look forward to a video of "I Have Arrived" where she can play up the diva-bit with breathy defiance, perfect make-up and wind-blown hair.
Emma Robert will never be "I-Am-The-Most-Talented-Young-Singer-Ever" JoJo, but there is a place for her...entertaining us and making us laugh.

I'd reccomend this CD for younger teens and tweens. Fans of Christy Carlson Romano, Myra and Katelyn Tarver will love this CD.

3.0 out of 5 stars SO much better than youd expect, June 4, 2006

(22/m)For years I have been an underground hunter... I really only listened to Hip-Hop, some rap, some R&B, and old rap, with a bit of older rock, Phish, Grunge, and such... AKA I really do not like much music now-a-day... Listened to "Dummy" from a neice first... and it was catchy, so I downed the whole album... gotta say she needs a total album that is hers... this has Unfabulous songs (supposedly 6) but I think those are what I do not like... Her songs are the strong points from what I know... Dummy, I wanna be, Say Goodbye to JR high (somewhat more pop than like and definately not aimed to me) I Have Arrived... one of the strongest songs on the album, even at her age while recorded, it sounds good... "This Is Me" is good all around... We are gonna happen is OK I mean OK thats all...

other than this, the album is trash other to those that follow the unfabulous religion... lol but I was really pleasantly surprised... she needs 1 good disrespectful and rude boyfriend and she could be the next alanis morissette... thats what I thought atleast

4.0 out of 5 stars A review by Rosie!, December 25, 2005
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Unfabulous and More (Audio CD)
I liked every song except the songs "Punch Rocker" and "new shoes". I really didnt get those two songs. No offense to her but I loathed those two songs. I mean i just didnt see the point in making a song having to do with "new shoes"! i mean she can do better than that! Anyway the beat/tune to all her other songs are good. But the lyrics are a little childish( you can tell by the name of her songs). But overall the TUNE of her songs ( besides the two i mentioned) are really good:)
Plus she has a really good voice:)

2.0 out of 5 stars The Reason Why She is Unfabulous, March 14, 2009
This review is from: Unfabulous and More (Audio CD)
Girl... Try to sing next time and not to scratch my ears. She has got no voice. Nowadays every actor/actress make music like they have talent for it. But I kinda liked the songs "Say Goodbye to Jr.High", "Dummy", "I Have Arrived" & "I Wanna Be". But seriously the lyrics are hilariously awful. I mean they are very NOT meaningful! Well, I'm sorry that she had braces but a person shouldn't sing 'bout their braces. I mean that is disgusting people. Please DO NOT waste your money on this silly album. If you liked just a few songs don't make the mistake I did and buy the whole album. Just buy the MP3 versions. This album made me understand why she is UNFABULOUS.

This is a really good album. Bouncy, teen pop at it's best. Emma's voice isn't strong but it doesn't need to be for this type of album. 'Say Goodbye To Jr. High'is probably my favorite track, but I also recomend you listen closely to 'This Is Me', 'I Wanna Be', 'Dummy' & '94 Weeks (Metal Mouth Freak), although I could recomend all the tracks. Emma is a very talented girl, a superb actress and for this type of album a really good singer also. Another Mariah Carey she will never be, but an excellent singer with a proper girls voice she definately is. RECOMENDED ALBUM!!!!!!
