Out of Control, June 16, 2008
This review is from: Unfaithful (Paperback)
When fantasy and desire become obsession, someone is bound to not only get heart-broken, but hurt. Two couples, husbands and wives, and best of friends; what could go wrong to rock the love and bond they have for each other? Ryan's one night in Devon Scott's Unfaithful sent emotions running wild, and people clutching their chests, just above the heart.
Ryan fantasized of Olivia, a woman forbidden to him, for reasons obvious to him and everyone around; the situation takes a turn when her husband, Miles, Ryan's best friend, confronted him about his obsession over an action that happened. Unfortunately, this confrontation sent Ryan and his emotions careening out of control; making choices that would affect more than him and Miles, but also their wives, Carly and Olivia.
All four of these individuals, are supposed to be friends, but friends do not hold secrets unless they have something to hide. Who was hiding something and why, more important, what were they hiding?
Devon Scott delivered an awesome fast-paced, laced with jaw-dropping shock, drama, and raw emotions in Unfaithful. It only takes one bad judgment to redirect the trust and bond that is used to maintain a secure and happy relationship. While reading, at times I felt like a character should have been yelling and screaming, but instead she handled a situation she had no control of with dignity and grace. In the world I know, it would have played out differently; it seemed a bit unrealistic to me. I recommend Unfaithful to anyone looking to read a drama-filled and soft erotica story, with characters you either love, hate or feel sorry for.

Things Are Not Always What They Seem, July 11, 2008
This review is from: Unfaithful (Paperback)
Ryan appears to have it all: a good job, wife and nice home. But sometimes that's not enough. Olivia is a co-worker and best friend to Ryan, but when secrets come to light, things are not always as they appear, especially when you don't want to know the truth. Sometimes lust comes at a price, leaving consequences you have to face for the rest of your life.
The opening storyline for Unfaithful dragged, and I found myself losing focus to continue the story. But as I continued the book, it did eventually pick up towards the middle. I enjoyed the realistic issues the book covered and dealt with. Overall, I think Unfaithful was a solid 3, due to the book not coming together until the end of the book.
