This book is a "must have" for every married couple's library. I would also recommend it for those who are engaged or thinking of marrying, because it offers great advice on how to place boundaries and hedges around your relationship.

Gary and Mona Shriver share their most heartbreaking moments, the steps that led their relationship into being vulnerable, and the long painful process that saved their marriage.

In the first chapter, (Revelation), the book opens with Gary's thoughts and emotions as he is driving home to confess to his wife that he's had an affair. This chapter was so raw and so emotional, I found myself choking back the sobs as I read about this couple's journey.

I admire the Shriver's willingness to be completely honest and open with this book about their life - it's a testimony of forgiveness, grace and restoration that we all can learn from.

I've never read this author before and I have to say while I hated the circumstances that brought about my reading this book, I found the book itself very hopeful and encouraging. It chronicles another couples' journey and struggles in overcoming an affair. It's split into parts and sides (Example: It tells the wife's version of an event then it tells the husband's and so forth and so on). The only negative I had about it was it didn't always answer all my questions about how and what to do with certain areas of things, but I didn't really expect it to because my personal situation wasn't exactly the same as theirs and nobody's is so no other couple can really honestly tell you how to fix your own marriage. However, if there was to be a book out there that gave me the most hope and helped me understand that everything I was feeling and doing was normal and not psychotic, then this would be the book. Thanks to the Shrivers for their openness and honesty!

This book is amazing. It is an honest book, written by a couple willing to share their struggles with other suffering couples. I am glad I read it because it gave me more insight than talking with a therapist. If you are dealing with adultery, you owe it to your relationship to give this book a try.

The betrayal of trust that comes from infidelity is a hard wound to heal from. "Unfaithful: Hope and Healing After Infidelity" is a guide for couples who have shown this weakness and want to overcome it for the sake of their family, their friendship, and their love. Drawing upon their own experiences, Gary and Mona Shriver give much advice and state that with enough time and patience, any wound to a relationship can be healed. "Unfaithful" is a top pick for those who are uncertain of their marriage's future.

I bought this book soon after finding out about my spouse having an affair. Both of us being Christians and BOTH wanting a new and better marriage, I found this book to be exactly what I needed. This book is based on biblical truths and should be a must read for any couple that has experienced an affair. With so many stories of divorce prevalent in the news and couples around us, let the author and his wife provide you with a sense of hope in this day and age.

My spouse and I have been in a terrible spiral due to infidelity. We have been to counselling and marriage retreats. I moved out.
I purchased this book in a last ditch effort to help us. While a lot
of things Gary (male narrator) says I have felt for a long time,
Mona's contribution from my angle is even better. My wife has finally found a 'friend' in her by reading this book and has been able to get a hold of many of the things going on inside of her. I would recommend purchasing this book immediately after finding out about an affair.

I bought both editions, but the later edition (this one) is the one you really need. I also contacted Gary with a question and he wrote a nice email back. Truly a Christain.

This book was the most helpful in inspiring me to save my marriage. My situation was similar, but hearing from both Gary and Mona helped me keep the right perspective and have enough courage to forgive and try to trust again. Every marriage and situation is unique and not all end in reconciliation. However, this book shows that healing IS possible. I'm now a testimony of it too!

I'm not sure if I'm brave enough to share our story yet, but the Shrivers certainly encouraged me/us to move on and help others.

This is an excellent book! Very helpful and certainly an encouragement to understanding thoughts and feelings when walking through the pain of infidelity.
