3.0 out of 5 stars It was an OK book
For me, if a book is really great, I would finish it in a day. This book took me almost 2 weeks to read just because I forgot that I had the book at times. I wasn't excited to finish.
I felt it took too long to get to the good part and when it did, it was over too soon.
What I did love about the book was revisiting the Madarises and their friends. This family is...

Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned - Christy Madaris style. Still reeling from the emotional devastation and pain of a three-year-old shattered promise, Christy decides to move on with her life. Taking a new job in Cincinnati, it's obvious that she's running from her past. How far can she get without resolving her issues? Alex Maxwell has always been a part of the Madaris family. Three years ago, he didn't understand the ramifications of breaking Christy's heart. Now, he wants to make amends and recapture the love that was once his.

Alex is sent to Cincinnati to keep an inadvertent watch on Christy, but his agenda holds more than just a friendly visit. Christy can't stand the thought of Alex being around, especially since her heart is still frozen and can't seem to thaw. The problem is, deep down, she still loves him. Investigating a series of kidnappings, she places herself in a world of danger - danger that could help her meet an untimely death. Who else would risk their life in an effort to save the one person that has shown him how to really love again? Alex puts it all on the line as he uses his investigative connections, intuitiveness and brave heroics to save the woman of his dreams.

BRENDA JACKSON does it again with book fourteen in the Madaris series; built on family values, trust and honor. With the right touches of drama, sizzle and unrequited love, UNFINISHED BUSINESS shows that true love never ends - no matter the length of time or the geographical boundaries. If you haven't had the pleasure of reading this series, I suggest you get them all - you won't be disappointed.

Benda Jackson has done it again, this book was amazing and well worth the wait. I hated for it to end, and will be thinking about these characters for a long time. Family, love, drama, romance and a thriller all rolled into one.

5.0 out of 5 stars she has done it again, April 10, 2005
This review is from: Unfinished Business (Madaris Family Novels) (Mass Market Paperback)
I have read all of the Madaris series and I have not been disappointed yet. Ms Jackson is a superb and vibrate writer who can touch the hearts of many. I can hardly ever wait for any book that she writes. As a matter of fact the moment this book was on the shelf in the store I was there to take it off. I also have read all of Ms. Jacksons books. I am looking forward to all writings of Ms. Jackson not only from this series but also from the Harlequin and Silhouettes.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well Worth The Wait!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, April 12, 2005
This review is from: Unfinished Business (Madaris Family Novels) (Mass Market Paperback)
This book was well worth the wait, I had been waiting for Cristy and Alex story for a long time. It all starts out with Cristy leaving or actually running away from her feelings for Alex off to Cincinnati. The Mardaris brother all call Alex secretly asking him to check on Cristy from time to time, unaware of Cristy and Alex feelings for each other. Alex decides to go after Cristy fighting for her to love him again. Cristy is stubborn and promises him that she won't ever fall for him again, but Alex is just as determined as she is to have her love. Cristy get into trouble investigating a story that pulls Alex into it in order to save her and prove his love to her. This book was the bomb!!!!!!!! Mrs. Jackson always does a good job with her stories.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great!!, June 2, 2005

This book never slowed down. The loves scenes are so descriptive, you feel like they are doing it right in front of you. I first read about Alex and Christy in Surrender. I wondered how their story would play out. Some of the situations are a bit over the top (remember Christy flying to that place to follow up on a story by herself??). I could have reached through the pages and tried slapping some sense into that girl! However, it was still a good read. My favorite scene was "I like the way you move". I could almost see the jaws of her brothers dropping to the floor.

I stumbled onto Brenda Jackson's books by accident. I am a die hard Beverly Jenkins fan, but I've read all her books. Ms. Jackson's name came up when I was searching for something else to read and I decided to give her a try. So far I've read Surrender, True Love, Family Reunion, and of course Unfinished Business. I have to say that I'm impressed. Until December of 2004, I didn't even read romance novels. Ms. Jenkins and Ms. Jackson have given me wonderful stories about us to read. Our black men can be romantic, exciting, loving, caring individuals. It's nice to see that fact in print. Since I started a little bit out of order with Ms. Jackson's books, I'm having to go back and start at the beginning. I bought the combo book that has stories about Justin, Dex, Clayton so I can see how they won over their ladies. I can't wait to also read about the twins and Luke. I also agree with some of the other readers -- let's get a story about Rasheed!! Even Christy was struck by how handsome he is.

Yes Mrs. J you have done it again!! "Unfinished Business" was an excellent read. Like the other members of the Brenda Jackson book club we waited patiently since the "Midnight Hour" for Christy and Alex's story. This story had me up late at night waiting to see what will happen in the next chapter. If you are looking for a story that is intense, full of suspense, and will make your toes curl from romance. Buy this book!! You will not be disappointed. Thank you Mrs. J.

PS. How about a story for Sheik Rasheed Valdemon?!

OMG..... Ms. Jackson's Unfinished Business was just off the hook. I could not put it down. She is such an excellent writer. Christy and Alex's love was just to powerful for words. So BJ fan's if you haven't read this book yet, don't sleep! This one will knock your boots off. Looking forward to Slade, Blade and that cowboy Luke.

P.S. If there are any BJ fans out there that have Secret Love I would love to buy it from you. Thanks. Happy Reading.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful Story, November 2, 2005

This review is from: Unfinished Business (Madaris Family Novels) (Mass Market Paperback)
My first time reading a story by Brenda Jackson. I must say the book was truly entertaining. Believe it or not, I got the feeling that she must have had a lot of love in her life to write about it so well. Loved Christy, strong and had enough of Alex Maxwell and his snubbing of her love. It was good to see that he realized that he allowed a wonderful woman to slip through his hands. How many men have done that. Even in my family,I have seen this and just like Alex, my brothers and cousins run like crazy to get the woman they really loved and who loved them back. Great work Brenda! Looking forward to reading more of your books.
