Barbara Keaton's novel Unfinished Love Affair takes you into the lives and relationship of Kayla and Allen. It's a story about one man's inability to commit to marriage and the woman he loves.Allen and Kayla have been dating for three years. He loves Kayla, but must find a way to end the relationship. He knows that this is the right time because she is expecting him to propose however, he isn't ready. Kayla is devasted, angry and doesn't believe that he doesn't love her. She truly believed they had the perfect relationship. Allen was her first lover, he taught her about love; He was everything to her. It takes months for Kayla to move on with her life. She is sad and depressed. Ten years pass before they meet again. Kayla married and divorced after only three years. She is teaching at the local college and has written a book. Allen is an architect and the proud owner of one of Chicago's leading construction companies. He had eventually married and fathered one son. Over the years he thought about Kayla and knew that he still loved her. This chance meeting opens up into the heart of a beautiful unfinished love affair. Keaton makes the characters come alive with her vivid descriptions of the storyline. She knows how to take relationship issues and weave them into a story relate that readers can relate to. Kayla and Allen dated for three years when he decided to end their relationship. They both married on the rebound to people they didn't love. After ten years fate has brought them back together to see if they can make it work a second time around. This is one of the best Genesis romance novels I have ever read (I read it in three days). The characters were well developed and the flashback were so well written it was like reading a movie. Ms. Keaton did a great job with this book and I look forward to reading her next novel. -JaT

AN UNFINISHED LOVE AFFAIR is the story of a man, Allen who comes back to claim Kayla, the woman he loves after dumping her ten years ago because of his fear of commitment. Now that Allen has matured and is the father of an eight-year old son, he is on a mission to prove to to Kayla that he never stopped loving her. Not everyone is happy with this reunion, including his ex-girlfriend that refuses to accept that he loves someone else, her sister, that was there when he left her the first time and watched her sister suffer, and Kayla's ex-husband, whom she married on the rebound, who claims to want her back.
