About the Artist

The music world is Unfolding a new chapter of sound with the rock-heavy foursome EVERYLASTHING (every-last-thing). Crashing drums and seductive rhythms are simply the teaser to EVERYLASTHING’s insatiable sound. Holding true to a classic-rock strong suit of Cantrell-esque vocals, front man Ben Bunker ‘s guided story telling haunts just above the surface of the untimely melodies and grinding, precise riffs that consume the six incandescent tunes of the band’s debut EP Unfolding (Last Beat Records, 2003).

Lyrically Bunker journals the band’s evolution and progress both personally and professionally on the track "Mind Over Matter". Simplifying the undeniable passion and focus of the band, the song details strength, inspiration and dedication leaving the listener with a feeling of empowerment. "Better Days" and "Empty Hands" both reminisce on more elusive memories for Bunker, including his actions and the repercussive emotions that follow. Collectively all of the tracks speak of EVERYLASTHING’S aggressive rise without harboring any negative thoughts. Instead the band’s obsession with growth and success gives them the ability to inspire with each note as they personally aspire to take their sound to the next level.

With close to several years and more than one band between them, Ben Bunker (vocals/lead guitar), Jason Walters (guitar/vocals), James Herman (bass/vocals) and Jacy McCann (drums), all in their mid-twenties, have been creating music since their early teen years. First pursuing the Kansas-based Gryn, the band moved to Dallas, TX in 1998 for bigger possibilities in a better market. Gryn successfully toured through Texas and Kansas, maintaining a solid fan base in both states and constantly building a deafening buzz. Six years together and a few brushes with greatness ending in disappointment caused for Gryn to briefly disband while the members explored various other musical entities. Having yet to quench their thirst to be bigger and better than anything they’d yet to pursue, the band rearranged their original Gryn line up and reunited as EVERYLASTHING in 2002. Original drummer James Herman was the first to join Bunker and Jason Walters, leaving his sticks to Jacy McCann (Gryn’s drummer before their break), Herman assumed position on bass guitar and limitless creativity began to surge through the veins of ambitious foursome.

With an established following already set throughout the Midwest, EVERYLASTHING has easily risen above the many ‘local’ artists in Dallas. Thanks to their healthy work ethic and awe-inspiring talent they have accomplished this feat in a very short time. The band’s name itself signifies the efforts of each individual member who has vowed to give their all to the band; this project being both the most intense and well received that any of them have ever pursued. Their hard work is duly noted onstage as their tight, professional sets are packed with prime musicianship and an intimate, piercing presence.

5.0 out of 5 stars SHORT BUT VERY SWEET, June 18, 2005
This review is from: Unfolding (Audio CD)
I had the pleasure of seeing these guys twice in two small clubs. The music never sounded better in either venue. These guys played their asses off and supported this E.P. without fail. As ex-members of GRYN and knowing most of GRYNS music, EVERYLASTHING's UNFOLDING album is as good as it gets with some definitely awesome melodic twists. Well worth the moolah for some terrific earcandy.
