Meet Casanova Brown,
By The RAWSISTAZ Reviewers (RAWSISTAZ.com and BlackBookReviews.net) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Unforgettable (Arabesque) (Mass Market Paperback)
Readers will find themselves mesmerized by Adrianne Byrd's uniquely refreshing novel UNFORGETTABLE. In this latest offering, Byrd spins an engaging story about philandering millionaire music mogul, Marcel Taylor and his reclusive secretary Diane. Aptly nicknamed Casanova Brown, Marcel is the object of desire of the multitudes of women who cross his path daily, and true to his reputation Marcel "takes no prisoners." Included in this lot is Marcel's "cute" but reserved secretary Diane, who has also fallen under his spell. There appears to be no chance for romance between the two however, since one of Casanova's cardinal rules is to never mix his professional and personal life. But in Casanova Brown's world rules are mere guidelines. When their professional lives threaten to intertwine with their personal lives, Marcel and Dianne must decide if they want to act on long-suppressed desires. The story comes to an exhilarating crescendo when Marcel, at the prodding of his best friend, agrees to attend a masquerade ball where the two scheme to choose one of the attendees to become his prospective wife. When word gets out about this, the office employees hatch a plan to crash the party, which has been made off limits to them. Diane grudgingly agrees to attend and enlists the aid of a gay friend and her headstrong grandmother who was a stripper in a her heyday, to help transform her into a Cinderella of sorts. The wily cat and mouse game that ensues is sure to intrigue readers. Andrianne Byrd inks an engaging novel peopled with characters that are at once enduring and memorable. Although the story starts out a bit slow as she takes time to strengthen and develop her characters, Byrd does a fabulous job in presenting a stylishly romantic novel with comical moments. UNFORGETTABLE is filled with enough romance to enthrall the most discriminating lovers of this genre. It is a gentle reminder of the power of love and will capture the attention of its readers and stay in their hearts long after the final page is turned. Reviewed by Autumn

If you're not reading Adrianne Byrd by now, there is something wrong with you. Unforgettable is another winner!! I continue to be impressed by this author. This classic cinderella story comes with a prince and ball, and a missing shoe. Byrd has taken a classic and updated it to its own Unforgettable story. I look forward to Solomon and Ophelia's story as well. READ THIS BOOK!!!

This concept of the boss falling for his secretary has been done before, but nobody does it like Adrienne Byrd. You can always count on her to deliver a romance packed with a powerful combination of sexual tension, witty bantering, and a fresh storyline. Marcel is your typical "casanova". He's got the face, the body, and the charm to be inducted into the "Fine as Hell" Hall of Fame. But he's also smart and wealthy. Three weapons a woman is powerless against. Yet, he's also considerate of others and he shows Diane the type of passion she only dreams about in her fantasies. Once I picked this book up, it was hard to put down. I read it in one day. There were some other elements I really liked about this book. I enjoyed how Ms. Byrd ties in the Cinderella theme when Diane has to have the limo back by Midnight and she loses her high heel. A modern twist on a classic fairy tale. I also love how two romances are weaved into the book with the character of Solomon telling Ophelia how the romance between Marcel and Diane began. It was kind of like the Princess Bride, where the movie goes back forth between the grandfather reading to his sick grandson about the lovestory of Westley and Princess Buttercup. That was really the only reason I gave this 4 stars - because for me, there was no happy ending for Solomon - unless Ms. Bryd plans a sequel (hint, hint). Lastly, I have to point out the author's incredible ability with words and descriptions. I love how she describes emotions. In one instance, she doesn't just say that Diane's heart beat fast. She says, the inside of her chest was like a carnival...bumper cars slamming into her heart. With romance that has been done the same way time and time again, Ms. Byrd always find a way to put her signature stamp on it!

Awww, this was a quick, fun read that I really enjoyed. Loved Marcel and Diana, and thought the cast of characters surrounding them were just adorable. I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed that Solomon and Ophelia get a story, cause those two have got to get together - pretty please??

Good read. Just a wonderful love story with a few elements from a beloved fairy tale. Consider this a Cinderella for grown ups. Loved the double feature, if not a bit disappointed for the lack of double happily ever after. But I suppose that's how you setup the next tale.

I've read quite a few of Ms. Byrd's books, and this is, unequivocally, her BEST!!! I had to force myself not to finish reading this book in one sitting. The all too familiar Cinderella tale was told with class and true love. The characters' stories (main and supporting) were woven like fine tapestry. There's just gotta be a sequel, Ms. Byrd...and I can't wait!!!

I loved this story. It was funny and romantic. I loved how Marcel was really in tuned to Dianna. Solomon and Ophelia were also kind of funny. LOL about the masquerade party. That was hilarious. All in all a very good story.

Ladies, Adriannes Done It Again,
This review is from: Unforgettable (Arabesque) (Mass Market Paperback)
Yall, Adrianne Byrd has entered the building and she's done it again. This time with a Cinderella-like tale, complete with a ball, prince and missing slipper- or should I say sandal in "Unforgettalbe." You will be intrigued by the witty characters and the great story-line. "Unforgettable" is a hilarious, entertaining, page-turner; and a all-around wonderful love story. She's even given us two more characters that we all fell in love with in "Unforgettable" with Ophelia and Soloman who's story will be just as good as this one. You will not be disappointed in this wonderful love story. If you are not reading Adrianne Byrd there is something wrong. You are not only depriving yourself of a wonderful author, but a wonderful story-teller also.
