Bette's debut with Avon is a real treat!,
By
This review is from: Unforgettable (Mass Market Paperback)
UNFORGETTABLE offers everything a diehard romance reader wants in a novel, two very likable characters, a plot that keeps you turning the pages, steamy love scenes, and just a touch of bittersweet angst. Anna and professional football player, Gavin have known each other all their lives. Anna had a crush on Gavin when she was a teen, and has never truly gotten over it. However Gavin sees her only as the little sister of his best friend. Or so Anna thinks. One day Gavin's deadbeat dad drops by for money, and leaves Gavin a gift: His younger brother, Kyle. Abandoned with a brother he's never known by a father who obviously doesn't care about his well-being, Kyle is one lost kid. Gavin, however, steps up to the bat and vows to give Kyle a good home. He will need help though. That's where Anna comes in. Anna owns a catering business that prepares meals for Gavin's football team, the Detroit Lions. He sees her practically everyday. When he asks her to watch Kyle for him when he has to be out of town on away games, and to continue to cook for the two brothers Anna doesn't have to think long before agreeing to the arrangement. But with them in such close proximity, it isn't long before they both discover a strong attraction between them. Attraction? No, more like a burning desire. You will enjoy this heartwarming tale about family, and faith, and discovering that the love of your life is right under your nose!

Unforgettable!!!,

I am more impressed by each one of Bette Ford's books.Excellent! She is truly a gifted and skilled writer/storyteller. *This* is what romance fiction novels should be about. She is and has been my #1 favorite romance fiction author for a while. Some of the other romance fiction authors should take a few lessons. Truly. Unforgettable is her newest and best novel to date. I waited forever for this book to be published. It has now become part of my romance fiction collection. I have all of her books. Buy it, rent it, borrow it and you will not be disappointed. I sometimes think that Ms. Ford does not get the same exposure as the Francis Ray/Brenda Jackson/Rochelle Alers group, but Bette Ford's work is FAR superior on EVERY level and I have been reading this genre for over 10 years. Where Ms. Ford is an excellent storyteller, I am not, but here it goes: From onset, you would think having the male protagonist be a professional athlete would not work, "that's not my thing," but I promise you it works. Ms. Ford added just enough dimensions to the Gavin character and his family to give him true depth (for a fiction romance). Anna is believable and has depth as well. Their families are believable and necessary backdrops to the stories in that they provide believable forces and influences for the characters to interact with during the story. Excellent storyline, dialogue, anticipation, hot love scenes, overprotective siblings and add in a little family drama and ambiguity and you have a great Sunday afternoon read. I read quite a lot and I read this in one sitting. No cheesy underdeveloped, psuedo-action/suspense/mysteries here. Just storytelling at its best. She DOES not disappoint.

Definetely Unforgettable,

I absolutely loved this book. The characters are developed, real, and without superficial hangups that can really be a turn off. The elements of family and love are what bring this book alive and keep you reading for more. Anna and Gavin's relationship starts out slowly with their friendship evolving as they can't fight their attraction to one another. The relationship leads to a few complications on the way and the two must decide if their love is strong enough despite what everyone else thinks and says. The love scences are steamy hot yet they are not tacky or tasteless. This is a story of staying true to yourself and fighting for the love you want. You'll want to read this book again once you're done because Anna and Gavin will have you hooked.
This is a must read- Ms.Ford has done excellent work.

Problems, Problems,
By Lady K "Babygirl" (Savannah, Ga) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Unforgettable (Mass Market Paperback)
Anna Prescott is a successful business woman, Gavin Mathis is a successful football player, but there's a problem, their attracted to each other. The attraction is a problem because Gavin is Anna's brother, Wesley's bestfriend. Anna's family veiws Gavin as part of the family, that is, until Anna and Gavin act on their attraction. Will Anna be able to give Gavin up to bring the peace back to the family and save Gavin and Wesley's friendship? Will Gavin be able to let go of his past to prove to Anna's family that his intentions are honerable? And what will become of Kyle, Gavin's younger brother, who he just found out about, because their father just left the boy at Gavin's house and disappeared. The story was great. I'm sure you all will enjoy reading it as much as I did.

interesting relationship drama,
This review is from: Unforgettable (Mass Market Paperback)
In Detroit, partners Anna Prescott and Janet Raye Matthews run Prescott-Raye Catering that provides wholesome meals to bachelor members of the Detroit Lions football team. Among the clients is superstar receiver Gavin Mathis, who actually was the impetus for starting the program. Gavin asks Anna to help him with his teenage half-brother Kyle, whom his father just dumped on him. Neither Kyle nor Gavin knew of one another until addicted gambler George Reynolds left the kid with his older sibling. Anna agrees to help Gavin with Kyle.As Kyle adapts to being wanted by his brother and Anna and her family, Gavin and Anna, though long time friends, fall in love. However, Gavin must first deal with George, who tries to "sell" him Kyle before he can declare his forever love to Anna. UNFORGETTABLE is an interesting relationship drama that plays out on several levels besides the obvious romance between the lead couple. George is a poor man's version of the wastrel younger brother in the movie Parenthood. Any dealings with him are negative because he is so possessed by gambling he cannot see anyone else's needs. The Lions and their spouses and Anna's immediate family and her partner provide security and warmth that also enables the audience to see deep inside the two stars. Still, it is the nurturing Anna and the All-Pro Gavin who score the winning touchdown for contemporary romance readers. Harriet Klausner

Very delightful.,

This book held my attention from the first page until the end. There were plenty of twists and turns and even some family lessons to be learned. I loved it because the focus was not only in one department but balanced to keep the spark alive. I am definitely looking forward to reading more from Ms Ford.
Pick up the book, you won't be disappointed. :)

What a great love story. Gavin is really the epitome of what a real man should be. Stepping in to care for his younger brother with no questions asked, while Anna stepped in to help her friend out in a jam. These two end up falling in love, but the road is a bit bumpy along the way from the disapproval of her family members due to Gavin's past womanizing ways. You really felt for Gavin because he was so disappointed that these people (Anna's brothers and father) who he thought of as family had no faith in them. I thought the flow of this book was great, and it really kept me interested the whole way through. Definitely worth reading.

I can't understand the reviewer who gave this book a low rating. Not only was the book well-written with lots of plot and character development, but there's so much description and imagery, that the scenes just come alive. Nothing seems rushed or irrelevantly included in this book. This book was the epitome of a romance novel...a touching love story that has to overcome problems; in the end, love conquers all. I hated that the book had to end; I wanted to see the future of the characters. This book is definitely one of my favorites, and Ms. Ford has become one of my favorite romance writers, along with Brenda Jackson, Gwyneth Bolton, Maureen Smith, Rochelle Alers and Adrianne Byrd.

This was a great story. Anna and Gavin tried to deny their attraction and strong feelings for each other, but love won out. The downfall was the negative reaction of Anna's brothers and cousin. I loved this story. It was definitely a page turner.
