More About the Author

George Fischer is one of Canada's most renowned and prolific landscape photographers. During the past 25 years he has produced over 40 photographic books and 50 art posters. His work has appeared on the covers of numerous international magazines and newspapers and in the promotional publications of tourism boards around the world. His most recent book - Unforgettable Canada was on the Globe and Mail's bestseller list for eight weeks and has sold over 50,000 copies. In 2009, George released 4 new books - Unforgettable Paris, Unforgettable Thousand Islands, A Taste of Charlevoix and Jordan - A Land of Contrasts. The unique approach and stunning photographs of the Jordan book made it a bestseller in that country.

The book has many good pictures, and enough text to explain the photos.
It makes for A fascinating armchair read. The book is less beneficial as a practical guide, since many of the destinations are hard to get to for the average traveler....

I enjoyed reading through this book, especially for the beautiful pictures. As I'm hoping to visit Canada for vacation this year, it was a good starting point. I took notes as I read for places to look up and Google. It's not a definitive travel guide, but neither is it advertised as one.

The last 25 places did seem a little odd. I think maybe they ran out of "wow" places and just went with some "hmm" touristy spots.
