Good color advice,
By Basbenee (USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Unforgettable Color: Revlon Makeup with Confidence (Paperback)
This has some good color advice (if you're a pale blonde, an olive-skinned brunette, etc., what shades of purple work best on you), etc., all the way through the rainbow, for just about every skin tone and hair color. There's a bit of color mythology/psychology, saying what each color represents (if you love red, you're this ... if you hate yellow, you're this ...). Each color chapter has a focus piece on a certain woman, and the ages are from around 20 to around 60, with beauty tips accompanying, along with some manicure and eyebrow-plucking hints, too. At the end there's a stronger focus on some Revlon looks from campaigns that were current at the time of publication, but some of those products might not be available so much anymore, since most of these lines shuffle out what's not selling and introduce new products (not to mention that just about everyone is introducing mineral makeup these days). But there is some good advice and it can easily be applied and it's nice that the women featured aren't perfect model-types, but rather are young and old and have freckles and some lines (but no one is overweight). At the beginning there are pictures a few old Revlon campaigns from the 1950s and 1960s which are kind of fun too. Not the best book out there, but it's pretty good.
