Unforgettable Embrace is a very realistic and satisfying story.

While I have not been in the same situation as Rachel, I felt like she was a very relatable character. She can't quite put her finger on it, but there's just something about her relationship with Tony that isn't right, so she ends things. The break up makes her question herself and the decisions that she's made so far in life. Even when she was at her worst, she was still very sweet. It was very interesting to read about her journey to finding herself.

This book moves at a very slow pace. Even though Rachel is a grown woman it almost felt like a coming of age story. However, the pacing really gives you a chance to really get to know the characters. If you have an interest in romance/chick lit then this is definitely the story for you!

The author contacted me to see if I would be interested in a free e-book version in exchange for a review.I accepted and read it on my Kindle.

This book is perfect for lazy weekend read. And while I gave it four stars, I think it was be merely out of enjoyment versus a true LOVE for this book. I found myself just enjoying the story and the journey of self discovery that the main Character embraces.

Unforgettable Embrace is the story of Rachel, a 30-ish woman who breaks off her 14-year relationship with her childhood sweetheart and feels lost now that she has given up on years of comfort and stability. But soon with the help of friends she decides to travel around Ireland to find herself.

Throughout Rachel's travels, there is a constant inner dialogue going on with Rachel. She describes the landscape, villages, people she meets and her emotions based on where her life has now lead her. While this can be VERY daunting and drag on at time, (I actually found my self skipping over it often towards the end,) I did have an appreciation for the struggle you can see in Rachel as she comes into a new person.

My only one complaint is that I did not like the main character. I found her selfish at times and hard root for. She often become so self absorbed that I felt sorry for other characters that she interacted with. In a way it reminded me of EAT LOVE PRAY. a story of a women drowning in resent and what ifs? So she sheds all that she has been to discover some sort of new happiness.

I enjoyed this book as it was a fun and light easy read. I found it predictable towards the end and actually wish for more then what i as the reader was left with. But I definitely recommend this book if you are looking for an easy, warm hearted read.

I was kindly given this book to read by the author. I enjoyed many things about this book. I love the setting. Also,I love the authors way of describing things in the book. She makes things so clear that you feel like you could actually see what she is describing and the food scenes made me very hungry. However sometimes it seemed to be almost to descriptive and it bogged the story down just a little. I also enjoy most of the characters in the book. I like the main group of women most of the time. I also enjoyed the fact that the main character is flawed and not at all perfect. But she is trying to change to make her life better from the start of the book , and the journey that she makes through out the book is interesting. The ending surprise me I did not see it coming. I would recommended this book for anyone looking for a fun read. Also anyone interested in traveling would enjoy this book.

I really think I would like Rachel as a person, I thought it was great she didn't stay in a going nowhere relationship that was comfortable and safe for her, just because they had been together for years. She was actually a little relieved to have finally made that decision and get ready to move on with her life. The story was very enjoyable, I thought it needed some editing and it would have been an even better story. Some of the words were misspelled , and something about the accent was a little aggravating for me, using terms and words I'm not familiar with in our country. No fault of the writer or the book, just things I wasn't as familiar with and made it not flow as smooth for me. I did enjoy her story about Rachel and I will be reading another of her books! I think this book is worth your time and effort to read .

Interesting book about love lost and love found. I enjoyed the book, but I wasnt too into it. Loved the main character and how it was based in Ireland. It was a bit slow and boring but all in all a good story line. If I find myself drifting off during read time it wasnt keeping my attention. That is my personal opinion. It was a good book and I am not trying to lower anyones thoughts about it. Rachel was adorible. Loved her friends and sister. Absolutely loved the traveling through Ireland

Earlier this year I read and reviewed Unfaithfully Yours when I ended my review by saying that 'Ms Clancy has more to offer as a writer I feel, so it will be interesting to see how her writing develops.' After reading Unforgettable Embrace I am still of the same opinion. I felt this novel had potential but somehow it just did not work that well for me. Some aspects of the storyline did not go into enough detail and yet other parts of the book were over detailed making it read at times more like a tourist guide.

It is well written and I feel that Joanne Clancy has the potential to write much better novels than this one. I will read more of her novels given the opportunity as I will be interested to see if this happens.

The first part of the novel felt a little unexciting in the way the author described her protagonist's long term relationship falling apart, once Rachel got the travel bug it was more interesting. Her restaurant descriptions and lyrical enthusiasm for the beauty of Ireland has encouraged me to want to pay a visit. However surely that is not the intention for the novel to read a little too much like a travelogue and restaurant guide. I am also wary of the accuracy of the descriptions as I was very disappointed to notice that Newquay in Cornwall was referred to as New Quay, a basic error showing poor research and editing. I think the novel would have worked better for me personally while reading it if the suspense and romance had taken priority.

At nearly thirty years of age the protagonist Rachel and her long term boyfriend decide that they no longer want to be together. It is not as easy as she had hoped to make a fresh start and after a few disasters with dating she decides that more serious action is needed to find herself a new life.
