Showing John Ritter's incredible range, here he plays a violent wife abuser, just the opposite of what we are used to. This TV movie originally aired on April 30, 1996. Judy is the victim of a violent husband Paul. For seventeen years he has beaten her in uncontrollable fits of rage, until the night where their daughter witnesses his attack and threatens to call the police. Paul flees to the home of his mistress, Beth, but his anger follows him and he lashes out again. Seriously injured, Beth threatens to take legal action against him and Paul will be charged with attempted murder if he does not seek help. Forced to accept the violence within him, Paul reluctantly joins a self-help group. Through courage and determination he begins the slow journey to understanding himself.
