when I first heard this record,I thought thatschenker was changing his guitar sound to a more dark side, but the more I heard it,it just grew on me,now I think its a super great record kind of like asault attack or something like that, schenker once again reinvents himself and his sound.great record

Schenker /Keeling,,,way cool...he didn't really work w/ the Norum project. A Wanna be Schenker clone,,,It is a very vocal record,,,all about the lyrics and songs.. some great classic Schenker of course.Doesn't sound like he is trying to excel but he sounds like Michael,, He is great here as well as the band,,although I think the production lacks .badly,,,,adats?I will get the Live one I bet it smokes the studio versions,,,,Fat city is really cool...TOWER<<,that melody stays with me all day ,,drives me nuts..Rude Awakening is a great one .I relate to the lyrics. Great Vocal...I hope there will be another one w/ the two of them,,grown together,, if you are reading this guys ...Thanks..

Ignore the 4 stars - I would now give this 5 stars after several listens. This MSG effort is closest in style to the one that preceded it - namely Written in the Sand. At first I thought I was listening to a dud album, but it grew on me greatly the more I listened to it. What I like about Schenker is the complexity of his music. With every other guitar player I eventually get bored, but with Schenker's music I get more and more interested. He is the greatest rock guitarist in history in my view. Sometimes he can layer four or five complementary styles in a single track. He does not always give me what I want, but something else which I grow to realise is better than what I initially wanted. In a way, Schenker is somebody who actually corrects our expectations and tastes musically. I think Written in the Sand is slightly better, but comparisons with other albums are perhaps misplaced because of stylistic changes. If you are into Schenker, then I would definitely buy this album. If you are not into Schenker, then you need to give him a chance to cultivate your musical tastes in unexpected directions.
