We have very high ceilings and have just replaced barely-reachable track lighting with recessed lights that might as well be on the moon (I've got no place to keep a tall step ladder). An Amazon search on "light bulb change pole" came up with this. And it is perfect. The pole extends from about four feet to about 12. It comes with attachments for flood light bulbs and for regular shaped bulbs. I'm delighted. This problem is gone. Highly recommended.

This changer works for changing bulbs in our garage, where we have no globes, just the bare bulb. No ladder needed. BUT I bought it to change the bulbs in our ceiling fan that hangs from a cathedral ceiling. Great reach, but the globes get in the way of the "grabber", where the prongs angle outward at the tip. It completely fails to do what it's supposed to. There are other models out there that seem to not have that problem, but I haven't bought one yet.

I just bought a loft with 16 foot ceilings, have tried several products from neighbors, bought this one and it did the trick. All I could ask for!

The tool did what I expected. We have recessed ceiling lights and I changed the bulbs with no problem.

I spent a great deal of time trying to locate a product that would work with spiral light bulbs. There was very little that was clear in the descriptions. A few years back I bought another brand of light bulb changer at Sears which broke the bulb off at the base so I was a bit leary of light bulb changers on poles.

But it was either a light bulb changer on a pole or darkness, so I took a chance and bought this. Price was right.

I removed the light bulb from overhead fixture with another tool - one of the plastic long arm reachers, being very careful not to use any great force.

Then I turned off the electricity, fit a spiral light bulb in the prongs and carefully inserted into the fixture and turned slowly. Replaced 3 bulbs. It worked well with both old fashioned oval bulbs and spiral light bulbs.

I would recommend this but be careful with it.

Bottom line - this worked perfectly! Not sure why prior reviewers had problems since this comes with multiple attachments to either grasp the buld by small suction cups (which surprisingly holds the bulb very securely) or a grasper with radial prongs. Perhaps the first review published in 2005 did not include these attachments. This telescopes in 3 sections to a maximum length of 11 feet. Good buy!!

I loved this lightbulb changer.. It was so easy, and fun to use! A genius useful piece of equipment..

I've tried the light bulb changers with the spring grips and they don't hold on tight to the bulb. This one has a great grip and makes changing bulbs a breeze! Love it.

Needed a bulb change device to change bulbs in awkward locations where a step ladder was not convenient or safe. The Unger 91005R was a great solution. The pole extends easily, locks in position. The bulb cage holds the light bulb securely. Mission accomplished with both feet safely on the floor !

It took a while to get this delivered, but it was worth the wait. I have very high ceilings. Even with a tall ladder i just cannot reach these bulbs. This gadget attaches to the bulb with suction cups. Replacing four out-of-reach light bulbs took 5 minutes. Thank you!
