5.0 out of 5 stars A must have tool for lighting technicians
Having been in the lighting maintenance field for over 21 years, this tool I can count on to remove the bases of broken lamps EASILY! Any tech that has used needlenose pliers to remove a base can tell you how much time it takes to remove a base....usually in small pieces, not to mention the chance of damaging the socket if you grab the wrong piece. Absolutely, positively, does not at all work as advertised. It would barely fit in to the broken bulb and when it did, it failed to "grab" it to twist it out.

Any tech that has used needlenose pliers to remove a base can tell you how much time it takes to remove a base....usually in small pieces, not to mention the chance of damaging the socket if you grab the wrong piece. Just turn off the power, break off the glass stem, insert the tool and twist out the bad base.

We had a broken light bulb in a ceiling fan and my husband was convinced we were going to have to hire someone to come remove the bulb. I took a chance on this product, and it was worth every cent. Much cheaper than the alternative.

I originally gave this a bad review becuase I couldn't get it to work. Took a deep breath, counted to 10 and tried again. It worked! YAY!

5.0 out of 5 stars Broken bulb changer, December 24, 2011

This thing worked very well for getting out a broken bulb out of our ceiling fan that is over 10 foot overhead and no ladder tall enough. We tried everything we knew of to get it out before we ordered this. It was much easier once we tried the broken bulb changer. Very easy to use. Was skeptical at first but it works great.

I bought two of them because I don't ever want to be caught without one. The super can extract the broken light bulb in 10 seconds! Someone stole the plastic one I gave him. This product is even better.

Thank GOD I didn't have to use this product. But I wanted to say that this product, and the Unger Flood Light Bulb Changer (#92132), the Unger Recs/Track Bulb Changer (#960720) ALL fit the Unger 3-Stage Telepole. Prior to ordering these I could NOT find ANY information that specifically stated whether or not I could use these with the Unger 18 foot 3-Stage Telepole.

I ordered this, and the Unger Flood Light Bulb Changer (#92132), and the Unger Recs/Track Bulb Changer (#960720), and the 18 foot 3-Stage Telepole. Because this was my first time changing the Outdoor Flood Light that's almost 18 feet high. I figured I would be able to get one of them to work, since the reviews were not ALL bad, and they didn't cost a fortune. Well, I first experimented with the flood lights in the kitchen because they're not that high. The Unger Flood Light Bulb Changer (#92132) suctioned REAL GOOD and FAST when removing the bulb -- TOO GOOD! It wouldn't let go of the bulb!!! Which is GOOD for removing the blown bulb. So, I used it to remove the bulb ONLY, and used the Unger Recs/Track Bulb Changer (#960720), the one with the string to release the suction cup (it's kinda flimsy, but did what I needed it to) to install the new bulb. I just took my time, and worked slow. Took me less than 20 minutes. Including taking out my ladder, so I wouldn't have to extend the pole to its maximum. It's less sturdy when extended all the way out. But all for less than $60 bucks... I'm happy with the products!!! Oh! And I'm a 53 years young woman!!!
