Since 1979 Conflict have been playing the best, and most amazing anarchist UK punk, and this, their third album is a pure classic. It starts with radio samples (like Crass, Exploited) about nuclear war, and Maggie Thatcher. The lyrics deal with Police brutality, anarchy, the punk scene, a hatred for Maggie Thatcher and the song C.R.A.S.S is saying how important Crass were. Part of the CRASS movement, Conflict are one of the most renowned UK punk bands from the 80's (and still going today), and this album in my opinion is the greatest they have made so far. Classics like '1986, The Battle Continues' are still as vital, and intelligent as when the album first came out. Although i dont agree with the ALF movement i think the track 'This is The ALF' raises some good points. After years of hunting for the original record, they finally released it on CD, along with many other Conflict classics on their own label Mortarhate. The music is in the vein of Crass, Oi Polloi and even Discharge in places, although it still doesn't sound like any of those bands much. The lyrics 'reclaim the street, reclaim the towns, reclaim the Nation' really sum up this fantastic punk classic.

I bought this album the day it was originally released back in the late eighties. It's still one of the most powerful albums ever in my humble opinion. Forget todays poor imitations, look to the originals Conflict, Crass, Subhumans, Rudimentary Peni et al, then you'll understand the anarcho movement.
The drumming and guitar work on this album is so tight & strong, and Colins voice truly enforces their message. Definitely check out "Increase the pressure" and "It's time to see who's who", also blindingly powerful.

If you like punk rock, if you like the cockney British political punk this album is for you- from the moment this album starts it doesn't stop... It has a great tribute to their forbearers C.R.A.S.S., and a breakdown on how to react when taken into police custody in the song The Arrest. THIS ALBUM IS A MUST.

Best album by Conflict. If you are into music with a message, then this is for you. If you are into Nickleback, chances are, you aren't smart enough to operate a computer much less read this review.

This is by far their crowning achievement, recorded in 1985. Top notch, fierce lyrics, agressive, ultra-trebley, vitriolic-sounding guitar attack, great rhythm section courtesy of Broken Bones'Paul Hoody and lifetime drummer Paco Carreño and a tight harcore-punk/crusty performance that borrows somewhat from their major influence, CRASS.Intro and tracks in-between tracks are intrumentals mixed with radio and excerpts from speeches that nail the points made by the songs superbly to great effect. The closing track is a soft one with female vocals that makes for a perfect album closure. This album is so much mature in every aspect that their debut album and musically better than others that would follow so if you are to buy just one Conflict album it should be this one IMHO. The performance s ultra-tight and the sound almost excellent, clocking in at 33'. Don't forget to get a live one too, the live versions of the songs are different and exciting.

Wow, this is truly Conflict's best cd. You can say all you want about the debut or "Increase The Pressure", but this is and always will be Conflicts best cd, and is their last truly great one. From the chilling intro of "You Cannot Win" to the beautiful "To Be Continued", Conflict combines many different styles of music, such as punk, spoken word, and soft rock on this album. But the music is still 100% punk at heart, with classics like "Piss in the Ocean", "C.R.A.S.S.", and "This is the ALF". Sure, it's a short album, but the flow is beautiful, and there are no filler songs. A must have for fans of Crass and the Subhumans, and definately not for posers.

Conflict is one of the great old anarcho bands, I shocks me that TOM would call them posers and then urge people to listen to real music like Pennywise???? Pennywise is speed up pop punk there is not very much to say in their songs..

Conflict once again proves that they are the most political band that ever was and ever will be. This album has the most classic Conflict songs including my personal favorite "C.R.A.S.S." a musical collage of the band's predocessors, Crass. If possible, get this album and every other Conflict album, you won't be dissapointed.
