This album blows me away. From beginning to end, this album delivers. The songwriting and musicianship are a step up in every way from their past works. I was especially impressed with the lyrical content in relation to other albums. These songs speak to me in a way the past releases didn't. The musicianship is top-notch as usual. Monte is a beast on the guitar, and gets some really awesome solos in this album. If I had my way, there would be more solos, but the album flows really well the way it is. The drums and bass are solid, and they compliment the music very well. Vocally, I think this is their best album. Craig has come so far since This War Is Ours. His voice is very pronounced, confident, and emotional. From the relentless screaming in Ungrateful, to the slow emotional crooning in Picture Perfect, this album is a vocal masterpiece. They have really stepped it up with this record, and I think they've finally found their groove. This album really raises the bar for hard rock releases. I can't recommend this enough.

Stand out songs: Ungrateful, One For The Money, Live Fast Die Beautiful, Forget About Me

Escape the Fate are back.. to make some noise!!! ;)
In "Deluxe Version" that I've bought is accluded the Dvd "Live at Roxy". The CD is energic, pure rock.. but the live is unbelievable!! The band is completly magic, drummer and vocalist offer a show into a show. The atmosphere during all the concert is reckless, out of control, People scream and sing.
vote: 10 stars/ 10
After all, if the ETF move to my city.. probably I would to try a "stage diving" with the band!

ETF is a band that i've always thought "oh yea, i love their music. whatever." as much as i LOVE songs like 'ashley' and 'friends and alibis' and 'something,' amongst a few others, there was always something that just kind of kept these guys from REALLY being at the top of my list. i was not very fond of their last album, the self-titled (i know that is a sin, because most people seem to like it the best). i kinda figured they had reached their peak at 'this war is ours' and that it would be downhill from there, so i didn't expect for this band to prosper with me.
well, i was wrong. this new album is absolutely AWESOME! i mean, it is the best album they have released, imo. there is a continuity throughout the songs that i just love. the first 2 tracks are 2 of the best songs they've ever recorded. one of the bonus tracks sounds a lot like 'ashley' which has always been my favorite song of theirs, until i heard 'until we die' (track 2). when i heard the title track, 'ungrateful' (track 1) i think i knew i was in for a treat. it blew me away. 'live fast and die beautiful'- LOVE IT. 'risk it all'- a total anthem song. one of those ones you dig up every year and BLAST it. i hate to compare bands, because i like to think every one has their own mojo, but this reminds me a lot of Bullet for my Valentine at their best...
you gotta hear it. old fans, u BETTER love it! people who have not has the joy of listening to ETF yet, this is a great album to start with.

It's a good thing that ETF didn't use this album to claim their self-title, as this was FAR inferior to "This World is Ours" and "Escape the Fate". The riffs aren't as exciting. And while the solos are still incredible it just doesn't seem they put much heart into this album.

I know alot of listeners seemed to drop Escape The Fate when Mabbitt began to lead the band, but I think I enjoy them even more now. Probably better than the self titled album, Ungrateful is brimming with energy covered in explosive riffs, silky breakdowns, and excellent clean and hoarse vocals, courtesy of Craig Mabbitt. At no point was I ever bored with this album because each track is unique yet semblant of ETF's modern sound. The production value of the album is spectacular, too. This is not an album to miss this year, so do yourself a favor and download or pick up the CD like me. I think you'll be glad you did. By the way, my favorite track of the album is "Until We Die"

I personally didn't like the album.
At all. It sounds almost exactly like their self titled, which is nothing like their first two albums.
The upbeat, energetic aspect is gone. This just sounds like 80's speed metal.
I'm giving this album a 5 star review because I think they worked hard on it.
While it doesn't necessarily appeal to my tastes, it's still a good album.
