Allegra is an uptight conventional girl who unleashes her passionate nature after snooping on her guardian's erotic art and tries to cleanse herself by moving into a convent. After she realizes that she has been placed in an institution that revels in sexual depravity rather than the strict convent she thought it would be she plunges into a world of sexual exploration and delight. She becomes particularly close to another young resident at the convent named Celina. She and Celina become passionate lovers and there is hardly a sex scene in the book that does not involve her throughout the rest of the book. The book has several passionate sex scenes and really was a good read.

So why four stars? Overall while I did like the book unfortunately I do not care for all the lesbian encounters Allegra had with Celina. I am keeping the book only because I like the m/f sex in the book. One or two encounters wouldn't have bothered me, but just about every scene drove me crazy. If you are not into the f/f sex do not get this book. However I still say it was an excellent Black Lace novel.

As an avid reader of erotic fiction & after digesting a vast number of books, this book has remained one of my favorites, ...I find it to be a great example of period erotica. Set in Spain, it explores the journey of a young woman who went from a luxurious pampered life to a cold sadistic, sexually deviant convent. Where her innocence was quite literally shattered...but this experience instead of being a horrible mentally scarring smudge in her life, leads to a bold new existance where she discovers that for her there are no sexual limitations...she metamorphs from the shy timid girl she was into a wildly sensual being, who indulges in public encounters with multiple partners, to enjoying with wild abandon an orgy of purchased flesh...a must have book...
