This review is from: The Unhappy Child: What Every Parent Needs to Know (Paperback)
I am buying 2 extra copies to share with friends because this is the (suprisingly) best parenting book I have ever read! I implemented the suggestions (family meetings etc) and saw immediate improvement in mood and attitude. I HIGHLY recommend this book. It's unfortunate that it's called The Unhappy Child since it gives you all the tools for your child to be The Happy Child.

This review is from: The Unhappy Child: What Every Parent Needs to Know (Paperback)
This book is an excellent and much needed work about the many causes of unhappiness in children. Each chapter clearly identifies the topic; each chapter provides rich information including interviews with people and their children. The author even draws upon his own personal experience.
He provides an excellent and valid list of reasons for childhood unhappiness including favoritism; peer pressure; illnesses, etc. The tone is one of acceptance and working to forge a solution. This is a book every parent should have. It deserves a place of honor. |
