About the Artist
Jowe Head esquire - founder member of the late lamented SWELL MAPS, and also Dan Treacy's long-time partner in the TELEVISION PERSONALITIES has his first CD of solo material released by Overground Records.
Entitled JOWE HEAD UNHINGED it features the man crooning Istanbul Not Constantinople, (since recorded by They Might Be Giants) and Frenzy (originally a Screaming Jay Hawkins number).
The mans own tunes on this album include belters such as Marzipan and Shoe-Horn, crooning smoothies like Sudden Shower and Lolita, the fried beat poetry of Shiny Black Shirt, and ambient weirdness like Townshy and Crabs On Land.
Three bonus live tracks are also included, recorded at a show in Hamburg 1990 with members of BINGO SALAD.
The CD is packaged in a wonderful full colour sleeve designed by Jowe.
