Editorial Reviews

Review

". . . [this] impassioned and often obsessive account deserves to be taken seriously for exposing mistakes that must not be repeated." -- Wall Street Journal

Review

"Takis Michas' The Unholy Alliance constitutes an insightful analysis and devastating critique of Greece's reactive ethnonationalism. It should be essential reading not only for those in the West that are interested in Balkan politics but also for all those Greeks that take seriously the Socratic saying: 'Know thyself.'"--Nicos Mouzelis, London School of Economics (Nicos Mouzelis, London School of Economics )

1.0 out of 5 stars Trash 100%, June 3, 2009
By A. Visser (Netherlands) - See all my reviews
If someone checks the editorial board of this book he will notice Norman Cigar's name on it. Norman Cigar is a known u.s. propagandist. How much did state department paid this loser (T. Michas) to write this trash?

1.0 out of 5 stars The truth cannot be hidden!, August 2, 2009
Papakonstantinou's conversation with Lord Owen according to page 61: "The other side was obviously committing the same crimes. Guilt in a war cannot be one sided. Owen agreed with me. By then he very strongly held the opinion that the Muslims were equally to blame. In some instances they were more to blame than the Serbs".

1.0 out of 5 stars Endless Hatred Still Carries On, June 8, 2009
From the beginning till the end this "book" does not omit to mention the role the Orthodox church "played" as if it wants to brainwash the reader about the role of the Orthodox church in general [...]

So the hatred not only for the ancient Hellenic history but also for the Byzantine Hellenism, with the pretext of Orthodox church's action in the events of the time regarding the split of the former Yugoslavia, seems it cannot settle down (as the conclusion implies on page 138 regarding the Schism, Fall of Constaninople, etc.).
