4.0 out of 5 stars The Reunion Album
I was once a huge hip-hop fan. Those days are dead. But I still check in with Bone Thugs-n-Harmony every few years when they are able to get their acts together and put out an album. I always hope for a return to the glory days, but of course it never happens. Fans have been waiting 15 years for E. 1999 Eternal Part II. Never going to happen. We all know that. When I...

3.0 out of 5 stars wow what a disappointment!
First of all, I gave it 3 stars only because I feel I probably havent gave it as much of a chance yet as I should have. But after a few listens of the album, I am completely disappointed with this album. All 5 members are back on one album and it should be amazing right? But its not. Because they are rapping over some of the worst beats you could imagine. I am a...

When I first heard that the 5 thugs would unify to make an album together, I was excited. When I heard it for the first time a few days ago, I though; eh, not bad. Since then the album has grown on me. It's refreshing to hear all 5 members doing what they've always done best. It's great that even now, bone still goes against the grain. Is this a pop record? No it isn't, I don't consider this club music as some reviewers have said. Sure, it's accessible and mellow, but it's not exactly what is popular now, so I can't call it pop. Will Bone expand their fan base with this? Probably not. Will it go platinum? No way. However, I don't care and I don't think they care anymore either. They are making the music that they love. Bone's heyday is long gone. They will never achieve the level they once did. Their last album did well on the strength of the single with Akon. I don't hear a hit single on this album. Sales are not my concern. I am just happy to hear the 5 original thugs rhyming together and harmonizing again. If they put out another record I'll buy it. I think at this point, I will support them until they retire.

5.0 out of 5 stars More Mature, but still that same old Bone Bone Bone!, May 6, 2010
This review is from: Uni-5: The World's Enemy (Audio CD)
Another reviewer brought this up, and i totally agree. This is not Est.1999. This is not Art of War. This is not Resurrection. This is not Thug World Order. This is not Thug Stories. And this is not Strength and Loyalty. This is Bone at their most mature, most insightful, most religous, and finally most complete. We have never been given an album where all FIVE members shine equally, and I for one am ecstatically playing this cd over and over...and over and over. As a longtime Bone fan, I've grown up listening to these guys... literally GROWN UP. Any one of these negative reviewers obviously have not matured as they've gotten older, thus cannot see past the differences between this release and their first releases. This is reality rap for the soul, and I cannot endorse this melodic, positive, yet still banging, album enough. Ignore the naysayers, support the greatest Hip Hop group of all time, buy this album, and treat yourself to one of the best hip hop cd's we've been graced with in a LONG time.

4.0 out of 5 stars great album, May 4, 2010
This review is from: Uni-5: The World's Enemy (Audio CD)
im not sure what the first reviewer is talking about but this is an outstanding album considering ths is the first album with all five members included in aabout 15 years. Now is this the best bone album ever? no of course not, but if you like rappers who can flow and actually have something important to say instead of the bubble gum rap forced upon consumers by radio then this is for you.for all the 90's babies who might not know about bone please note that at one time or another your favorite artist at one point has tried to sound like bone, from mariah carey to lil wayne to kid cudi, so you should definitly give the originators a try

5.0 out of 5 stars There is more Calcium in da Bone, May 5, 2010
This review is from: Uni-5: The World's Enemy (Audio CD)
The first Bone song I heard was "Creepin On a Come Up" and I was 15. The Bone was young and I was young, it all matched. Now that I'm 29, I expect Bone to be more mature. They should be done with slanging and banging on East 1999. Like the Word say, when I was a child, I thought like a child, now that I'm a man, I shall think like a man. This is what the album is about. Bone defintely got the flow but now with a grown up message. If you expected the same old East 1999, Buddah Lova, Mr. Quiga type Bone from the old days, well you haven't grown up. This Bone is pass cartilage, get some calcium in your diet. Great album. This is 3X platinum music. I bet you. Saint Louis, 63113 out dirty!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars Origin of Rap, August 15, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
What can I say about the Cleveland group that broke barriers in Rap. Nobody will appreciate this album...only true fans will. You want to know why? Because only the true fans can understand where this desperado rap group is coming from. Most of the messages that this group is trying to put through in this album, most people don't want to hear. They'll rather listen to Eminem's new album. But when I tell you that it this is true Music coming from people who have been through it all, you got to understand that Bone Thugs-N-Harmony is now at a level beyond where they have ever been. Sure their rap in the '90's was "sick" but it does not compare to the importance of the music in this album. Young people will not like this album, mature audiences will appreciate the deeper meaning in life that the "thugs" have come to understand in their reunion album. To the majority of the Rap industry audience, this album will not be a success. But I will be dammed if people cannot recognize the skill of my favorite rapper in this group; Krayzie Bone. I know it is not right to put one above the rest, but if I were to pick one as my all-time favorite it would be without a doubt Krayzie Bone (aka Anthony Henderson). He has mastered the art of rap without the the recognition that other non-deserving rappers have achieved.

For that reason, I wish for all people reading this review to understand that Krayize is by far the most underrated rapper in the industry. That may sound biased, but if you knew him like I understand him through years of listening to his lyrics, I come to understand a man that does not claim to be the best that ever existed but as a man that has come to understand the importance of our lives. From his violent "mo Murda" era of the "90's to the humble and down-to-earth human being that is represented in "All In Time", "It Won't Be Long", "Can't Get No Better", and "Life! A Lesson To Learn" I have witnessed not only original rap music, but also the growth and advancement of a human being's understanding of their place on earth.

Not much people will heed much importance to my review, but at least I feel proud that I knew Anthony Henderson through his music. Music has the power to motivate, influence and inspire people, if you are not getting that from your music, then it is a waste of time.*Note to BTNH personally: In the midst of wavering fame and success, I remain a loyal fan and understand all of what you strive for in life, I remain supportive. Keep you head up, because your music not only sustains you but it keeps me going as well. I love to see you rise above and succeed. Praise to God, for nothing good in life would be possible with out Him.

Much love to Bone Thugs-N-Harmony for making music, I could not have understood my life without understanding yours.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bone Back And Still One OF The Best..., May 25, 2010

HipHOPPER "T.H.U.G. Soul" (STATEN ISLAND, NEW YORK, US) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Uni-5: The World's Enemy (Audio CD)
This bone thug reunion album is not there best work but still the best out so far among the rest... I gave this 5 stars because I am a true hip hopper a true fan of bone thugs .This is still better than that fake hip hop out now .Consistently spitting about the same stuff instead of just speaking on life . Being a T.H.U.G. soul is a way of life weather popular or not. As far as these other critics are concerned its just another aight album . Hears a ? if they [bone] were all rapping like they were in there prime talking about war and ak47s and drug dealing it wouldnt be real. And people would be complaining about it being fake .Time changes and people change .I say Good luck to bone and they deserve to go platinum. {They only wont go platinum cause they dont have your support } So buy it dont download show your support. Their music will stand the test of time. One Luv

5.0 out of 5 stars Very Nice Comeback, May 10, 2010
This review is from: Uni-5: The World's Enemy (Audio CD)
I have been a Bone Thugs-N-Harmony fan for a very long time and this album is a necessity for any BTNH fan. The album has a very mellow vibe to it and each song displays the message of the entire album and that is that they deserve the respect that has been denied for them for so long. The are the originators of the classic melodic fast rap style that came out in the early mid 90's and that so many rappers use these days. Each song is very nice to listen to and remember why they are the kings of hip hop. The only song that doesn't match the album's overall feel is the last one "Facts don't lie" (It's a very good song though) and that is because its a more "hard" rap song comparatively at least to the album. The whole albums sums up what it is and that they deserve to recognized and appreciated for what they brought to the rap game because without them rap would not be what it is today.

I have been a fan since 94 and have all of the bone cds and the solo work.. At first I wasn't sure about this new release. It has takin about 3 days to grow on me. For everyone that is bashing all the thugs for not pulling through on this album we must first realize that the guys are in their late 30's now.. They have grown up a bit since the days of Creep on the Come Up. The only thing I question... Since when in the hell did the thugs not do their own hooks?? Every song has some one we don't even know singin the hooks.. But other then that... I like it

4.0 out of 5 stars B.O.N.E, May 4, 2010
This review is from: Uni-5: The World's Enemy (Audio CD)
BTNH is too dope. There sound is very original and I'm glad they are making relevant music. Much love to them. My favorite song is Pay What They Owe. The sound is smooth and they talk about things we can all relate to (the struggle, staying focused, overcoming problems). Don't expect old B.O.N.E, just move on with the times as they have done....I recommend this!!!

3.0 out of 5 stars wow what a disappointment!, June 3, 2010

First of all, I gave it 3 stars only because I feel I probably havent gave it as much of a chance yet as I should have. But after a few listens of the album, I am completely disappointed with this album. All 5 members are back on one album and it should be amazing right? But its not. Because they are rapping over some of the worst beats you could imagine. I am a hardcore Bone fan from day one. And even when their sound and style was changing over the years, and everyone wasnt feeling bone much anymore, I always supported them and their evolution. I have liked all of their albums (with an exception of some of the crappy side projects and solos). But I cannot support this; their catering to the mainstream pop rap. This is not Bone thugs music. And if it is, then I am not a fan anymore like I use to be. I'm not just disappointed, im pissed off! There are a handful of descent tracks but all in all this is the worst bone album yet. Its funny cus when Bone first came out doing their thing, they were selling millions of records. Now, they are trying to cater to the mainstream sound, and they arent selling nothing like they use to. Bone was always original; they use to rap and boast about it all the time in their earlier records. Now they cannot make those statements anymore. I'm embarassed rigth now as a hardcore Bone fan.
