Still one of my favorites!, March 30, 2001
This review is from: Unicorn Dancer (Mass Market Paperback)
I was first attracted to this book's cover as an 11-year old in a used book store. It portrays a lady in a flower field startled by a black unicorn. I read it and became emotionally attached to the characters, and it became my favorite novel. I have re-read it several times over the years, and eventually was fortunate enough to find the sequel, "Daughter of Destiny", in another used bookstore (though this book can be stand-alone). I even used "The Unicorn Dancer" for my college admission essay, wherein they asked you to write about a hero or heroine of yours, and I chose Alorie. She and the other characters are realistic yet fantastic enough to be entertaining, memorable, and inspiring. I highly recommend this book, especially to younger people interested in Fantasy/Sci-Fi. It is still one of my favs after all these years, despite all the other novels of the same genre I've read. Bring it back in print!

Wonderful Memories, August 15, 2011
This review is from: Unicorn Dancer (Mass Market Paperback)
I really love this story! I discovered this book in a used bookstore and was attracted by the cover and the vague description. When I read it, it quickly became a favorite that I read repeatedly over the years. I probably read it more than a dozen times before I realized that it wasn't actually very well written. There are a many things that aren't well explained, there could be a lot more character depth, and the language is rather iffy at times. I think that this book really could be so much better than it is, however, the story and the characters are enough to really make me enjoy this book and keep coming back to it. It is a fun book, if nothing else, it will take you on an exciting adventure with plenty of characters you will be glad to meet and a few you will love to hate. The end leaves you longing for more and though there is a sequel, Daughter of Destiny, I don't recommend it as I found it hugely disappointing when it managed to ruin everything that was good about the first book.
If your looking for great writing this may not be for you but if you are looking for an entertaining fantasy tale this is a great choice.

Quick, easy and entertaining, July 11, 2011
This review is from: Unicorn Dancer (Mass Market Paperback)
I have read and enjoyed reading some of Ms Salsitz's books before and was I was thrilled to find Unicorn Dancer on Kindle. I downloaded it immediately and enjoyed reading it. Her writing has the ability to slow dance me into a fantasy world, where all day to day challenges are left behind.
