Book Description

June 29, 2007
An epic poem, an ecstatic prayer, & a beatific psalm authored by an anonymous master. The Unicorn Man is not for children, the faint of heart, &/or faithless. It is a grotesque self portrait of physical love & spiritual longing unraveled in an apocalyptic vision. These are verses of eternal hope written by a man with an acute suicidal condition. A man with an undiagnosable tumor growing in the shape of a horn from the center of his forehead. He hides from the world. This symbolic disfigurement transforms him from human into a fantastical beast. Until the love of a girl changes him back. The Unicorn Man is a highly personal collection of hidden text. Intimacy on a universal scale. A few poems about Love, G-d, & Death. Enjoy! ***The Unicorn Man "Unbecoming" version 07/07/07 release contains the complete text of 161 verse poems & 31 unique images. 5.0 out of 5 stars A Grotesque Masterpiece!, May 29, 2007
This review is from: The Unicorn Man (Paperback)
If you never read one word of this book the cover image alone will compel you to inquire "What is The Unicorn Man?" "Is he REAL?!" In these poems no distinction is made between what is reality, fantasy, disease, myth, or history. All nations of the earth have their own tales of unicorns, hybrids, and other fantastical beasts. The Unicorn Man is a monstrous hybrid who will inhabit your nightmares and dreams.

How an omniscient, omnipotent, God would permit such a horror as The Unicorn Man to exist is a most difficult religious and medical question. These are strange poems about metaphysical love, truth, and beauty. Read it and Re-read it. "The Unicorn Man" is a grotesque masterpiece!

5.0 out of 5 stars WARNING: THIS BOOK WILL RUIN YOU..., May 3, 2007
By
This review is from: The Unicorn Man (Paperback)
...in a very good way! I am through the looking glass! The Unicorn Man instantly antiquates everything that has come out in the past 20+ years. The Unicorn Man is not casual entertainment; it is a vivisected contradictory juxtaposition of dark yet illuminating imagery. With the voice of an otherworldly prophet, Vox Anon wildly pinballs between epic epiphanies and intimate vignettes. The Unicorn Man unfolds the tragic aspirations of becoming a new creature, but is brutally aware of the relentless limitations of the frail spiritual condition. I want to compare it to another book, but I cannot even think of something like it. It is a carnival ride that could fall apart as soon as it reaches the peak. The Unicorn Man is dangerous, but the elevated view is worth the risk! This book has the potential to be one of the great works of poetry for the new millennium. We need more art like this!

5.0 out of 5 stars And it Burns, Burns, Burns., March 27, 2007
This review is from: The Unicorn Man (Paperback)
Wow, talk about an intense and personal ecclesiastical insight.... I didn't know what to expect, and this cut me down at the knees. I don't know who this author thinks he/she is, but he/she is hauntingly similar to you or me, with the guts to explore, the desire for more, and plenty of that same familiar blood on the hands. It can be at both inscrutable, out of reach, and alarmingly close--almost too close for comfort. There is ache and ecstacy and the whiff of a red narrative that holds the verses together in a unit. Definitely a challege, definitely well worth the digging.
