Uniden DCT 7585-3HS Cordless Telephone with Answering System, Three Handsets, Speakerphone and On Base Keypad

I can't speak for every characteristic of this phone, since I've only had it for a week now, but I love it so far! Great sound quality, compact design, handy features, easy setup, and the NiMH battery has gone almost a week on a single charge with daily use. Other PROS: The display is very clear, the earpiece volume has great range/adjustability, nice selection of ringtones, speakerphone functions well, room monitor feature is very sensitive (it clearly picks up my computer's fan while sitting 4 feet from my system). There is nothing I don't like about this phone. If it turns out to be reliable, I would call it perfect.

UPDATE: After having these phones for well over a month now, I am still very satisfied with them. I have noticed extreme interference when standing within 6 feet of my microwave while it's running, so if you live in a very confined space, this may be an issue. I'm not the first to have written of this, but I also think it's common for a 2.4 GHz phone to exhibit this behavior around microwaves. I still give this phone a 5-star rating, especially at the price I paid (less than $60).

I have had this phone for a year and a half now, and I have had no problems. The clarity is great and it works well with headsets too. The answering machine is easy to use, as is the setup of the phones. My only complaint is that you must setup the speed dials individually on each phone.

I was hoping that this would be a long term investment but the phones didn't last long. Unlike the motorola phones where the keypads wore out (and I don't do a long on phoning people), the uniden's ear speaker quit on one and went fuzzy on the other.

Its sad that we live in a society where nothing is built to last!

We bought this set 2 1/2 years ago. Within the first year (warranty period), the on button stopped working on one phone, so we sent it in to get it fixed. Within the next year, either the on or off buttons stopped working on all 3 phones, rendering them useless. Other than that, they were great phones - easy to use and convenient. The small size didn't bother us, and we never had problems with clarity inside the house, although we couldn't take them outside to use. However, whether these are just bad phones or we happened to get 3 lemons, I can't tell you, but I wouldn't buy them again.

I purchased these phones in January of 08. Within 1 week, one phone stopped working because it was "Out of Range". 1 week after that another stopped because it was "Out of Range". Now the third phone's display shows nothing but a jumbled mess so I cannot check to see who is calling and when I talk with someone they say it sounds like I have a cloth over the mouthpiece. What a rip-off - stay away from these phones.

For the price the phones are good. I do get alot of static on occasion. I haven't tried to fix it yet so there may still be a way to correct the problem. DON'T put the clips on or you will not be able to shoulder your phone. The ring tones are fun. Shipping was fast.

These phones do the job for me. Yes, they might not be as clear near the microwave. But at the touch of one button on the base, all ringers turn off. Message still record (silently). I don't get woken up, and I still get my messages. Add to the caller ID, call waiting caller ID, a built in message machine that's easy to use, and I am a happy camper about this phone.

I bought the DCT 7585 which included only the base handset. Have had this phone about one year and it is the best phone I have ever owned. Cannot believe all the features on this phone and only paid about $35-40 for it on Amazon.

I researched this product for some time before buying it, and the reviews on various sites convinced me to buy it. Some incorrect claims about this product:
The phone supports up to four handsets, not 10
The reception is choppy sometimes, even next to the base - I haven't found a pattern
The handsets do not all share data - when you enter it into one, it is not accessible from the others, as some reviews had claimed.

One other thing is that the phones are a little *too* small in my opinion, and take getting used to before they are comfortable.

Overall I'm disappointed with the performance of this phone system and I would not buy it again; however, it meets the current demands for my household, so I'll continue using it until it dies.

Features are great. The sound though is not that great when you are talking on the phone with someone it sounds a little muffled.
