Uniden Accessory Handset for DECT Phones (DCX150)

I have had Uniden phones for years and they just don't quit, so I purchased the DECT 6.0 base unit w/2 phones as an upgrade since my phone service was changing to VOIP and my older Uniden phones wouldn't work with it. When I purchased the accessory phone, I could NOT get it to register. Emailed and got some suggestions, none of which worked. Finally called the tech support line (I didn't have to wait long at all as opposed to other reviews I've read). Here's what she told me to do, and it WORKED. (again, obviously, make sure the accessory phone is fully charged).

* Remove the base unit's phone from its cradle.
* Unplug the power from the base unit.
* press and hold the FIND button on the base unit, then, while continuing to hold down the FIND button, plug in power again. The CHARGE light should then be flashing. You can release the FIND button.
* press and hold the # (pound) key on the accessory phone you are attempting to register to the base unit and hold this phone OVER and NEAR the cradle/charging prongs until the phone goes through the registration process. (again, don't set the accessory phone in the unit, but just hold it near the unit).

This FINALLY worked.

Uniden needs to add this info to their product manuals so that this isn't such a frustrating process.

I had the previous version of this phone in a house with teenagers and I was pleased that the batteries lasted 5+ years. I am planning on using this set for 6+ more! I bought the set of 3 and added 2 more, now we each have one! It was a very good price at Amazon.

I was looking for additional handsets for my DECT2080-2 base unit and came across the DCX150.

Things I like:
- A bit bigger than the DCX200 and fits nicely in your hand
- Thicker phone makes it easier to hold against shoulder with no hands
- Orange backlighting is easier to read than the blue on the DCX210.

Things I don't like:
- NiCad 500mAh battery (BT-1007)
-- DCX210 is about the same physical size phone and features, but has a NiMH battery.
- Battery is not compatible with other Uniden handsets since it is AA based instead of AAA based
- No headset jack
- No beltclip

I am not sure if it is the phones or my TMobile@Home, but I had to manually set the clocks on each handset. I don't remember doing this on the original handsets, but I had a regular POTS line back then and just don't remember. This phone really adds nothing new or special over a DCX200 other than just being a bit bigger. I have DCX150, DCX200, DCX210, and DCX300 handsets all paired to the same base station.

After waiting for two months to receive from Amazon the matching handset for my Uniden "Loud & Clear" Dect 6.0, I gave up on it, prepared to pay 70-90 to another dealer for the apparently rare species. But then I saw this one, the DCX150, and was able to get confirmation from Uniden that it would work with my "Loud and Clear."

It does, but it has to be reconfigured, since the DCX150 will not fit onto the base of the "Loud and Clear." The instructions for both phones are anything but. However, after considerable trial and error, I finally stumbled upon the charm. You should have no trouble getting this apparent black sheep to be part of the "Loud and Clear" family if you keep in mind the following two points while reading the instructions:

1. "Base" always refers to the base of the main phone, the one that's connected to the telephone line. It's never used in reference to the stand for the handset.

2. "Find" is actually a button on the base--one that I couldn't find for several hours. It's "hidden" behind the phone, a small, round, black button (with a flashlight and magnifying glass, I was able to determine that the word "Find" is actually written on it, though black on black is not necessarily the most obvious inscription).

Now you should be set for a quick and easy (not to mention relatively inexpensive) set-up of the handset for your slightly mismatched Uniden base.

This is very important.This is just phones no answering machine.Our phone company provides us with voicemail so I don't need an answering machine.

I love this phone system.It was easy to hook up and has 3 phones You can buy extra phones to add on if you need more.All three phones work on just one phone jack.We each have our own phone with our own phone books,or you can add your phone book to all the phones .These phones have a lot of privacy options built in with ringer choices and how to call using the privacy option so you have no one picking up while you are talking.You can block curtain callers,if you have that salesperson that wont take no for an answer.

I just love these phones --it makes it so easy since it does not have to be plugged into a phone outlet

i bought this phone to add to the 2 i already have. phone has nice features for the price and the intercom feature is real handy to use from house to garage.

I just got it today, and I managed to install it within 5mins. The directions a BIT confusing (but it's probably just me). How I got it to work/register is you place the new handset you bought, and place it onto the MAIN base that you already had beforehand. It should start searching itself, or maybe you need to hold the pound sign #. It registered within seconds! Great product, and just so easy to install/register!

I just bought this phone and it's fabulous. Every uniden phone I've had is a winner. I'm not sure why I chose to get another phone two years ago, but I fell off the Uniden wagon and bought another brand. It was terrible. I'm back in the Uniden family today with my new phone. But seriously folks, this is a wonderful brand of phone on all fronts.

This accessory handset is a pefect complement to my phone system, and it completes my need. The value and cost met my expectations. I highly recommend this product to anyone looking to expand their phone system.
