Classically styled but equipped with all the modern features, the Uniden Bearcat PC78 Elite CB radio is a must for truckers, boaters, and other CB enthusiasts. The radio is housed in a stylish silver chassis with backlit chrome control knobs--an enduring look that's sure to satisfy longtime CB fans. More importantly, the radio operates on any of the 40 AM frequencies authorized by the FCC, while also picking up seven NOAA weather channels. For good measure, it even includes an alarm that sounds when a severe weather storm is forecast.

Full 40 Channel Operation With Delta Tuning
The PC78 Elite operates on any of the 40 AM frequencies authorized by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), giving you plenty of communication options. The "Delta Tune" feature gives you a more sensitive fine-tuning control, great for getting a more readable signal or dodging the bleed from a high-level signal on an adjacent channel.
Instant Channel 9
This radio also offers instant access to channel 9 should an emergency arise.
Weather Radio/Alert
The PC78 Elite also features weather radio, complete with a weather alert system. Weather Radio continually broadcasts weather conditions on 7 different channels, and the alert system sounds a seven-second signal in the event of severe weather, so you're always on top of whatever mother nature's dishing out.
Dynamic Squelch Control
Uniden's dynamic squelch control delivers a clear signal with less noise so that all your channels sound crisp and legible. The squelch control even reduces noise when the CB user on the other end doesn't have it, an advantage that few other squelch enhancers enjoy.
RF/Mic Gain Controls
Boost reception in strong signal areas with the RF gain control, and use the mic gain to adjust microphone sensitivity to your speaking level. The front-positioned microphone is easy to access, with an extra-long coiled cord.
Additional Features
The PC78 Elite also boasts an enhanced night-vision display with backlit controls; a PA/CB switch; soft-wave radio (SWR) calibration; and signal meter, antenna warning, and LED indicators that let you monitor radio activity at a glance.
The unit, which measures 7.28 by 2.2 by 8.89 inches (W x H x D) and weighs a little over 4 pounds, is backed by a two-year warranty on parts and labor.

This product seems to be built well and Uniden is a good brand in CB radio.
Pros: * Included ergonomic mic is noise-canceling (cuts out your stereo noise, wind noise, etc.) * Weather bands are nice and work anywhere * Wire this straight to your battery and it is nearly static-free on the highway. Very clean receive on this unit. * PA output is louder than other radios I've tried * Antenna warning light should keep you from keying up and frying your radio if your antenna system has failed Cons: * Have not found anything major yet Notes: * DSC is only good for very close transmissions. Leave it off if you wish to hear signals past 1/2 mile * Delta Tune doesn't really do much so don't waste your time trying to adjust it * This unit is basically the same as the Cobra 29 on the inside

I have used CB'S for over twenty years, This one is the best I have used in that time. I might add that for me it is the "fanciest" one I have ever bought. I do find the weather channel to be useful as I commute across the country. The ergonomic mike is a pleasure to use, I expect to see copycats on the market soon. You could spend a lot more for a CB and not get any better performance.

Very satisfied with the cb -good range with the antenna - weather info easily accessed - easily mounted permanently - nice mic which fits into my hand - safety plus for driving and really helps with avoiding highway congestion.
