This review is from: Uniden DECT 6.0 Silver Cordless Digital Answering System with Caller ID and Four Handsets (DECT1580-4) (Office Product)
I have the DECT1580-3 version (3 handsets). My wife and I love it. The range and sound is much better than our 900Mhz and 2.4Ghz phones. Plus at 1.9Ghz these phones no longer interfere with WiFi.
Pros: *Only one phone jack needed for all phones (great for Vontage or such) *Great speakerphone really useful with dial-up "customer" service *Can name each handset, so one can xfer/page by their name/location *One phone book for all phones (or separate, if desired) *Lighted keypad *Number of messages counter on base *New message light (LED) on phone *Listen to recorded and screen live incoming messages from any phone *Easy to add extra handsets as needed (like DWX207 Waterproof Handset) Cons (all minor gripes): *Single voice mail box *No keypad/speakerphone on base *No headset jacks *Old style NiCd Batteries instead of better NiMh or Lion *Base wall mount bracket not included, extra handsets not wall mountable Overall I would strongly recommend this Uniden Dect6.0 phone.

This review is from: Uniden DECT 6.0 Silver Cordless Digital Answering System with Caller ID and Four Handsets (DECT1580-4) (Office Product)
I needed more extensions for my land line phone system. I purchased the Uniden DECT 6.0 Silver Cordless Digital Answering System with Caller ID and Four Handsets DECT1580-4 and they have worked great.
I like the way they light up when in use, not just the LCD but the numbers to dial. The ability to copy phone entries from one phone to another is also wonderful. The label I provide a caller, stays with the number, and overrides CallerID. This allows my name for say "Uncle Steve" to hold, even though his wireless CallerID says "Wireless Caller". All extensions set time and date on incoming call. These phones work great with my AT&T land line (POTS) service, and with my new Ooma service. Sound quality is great. Each handset can function in normal phone more or as a speaker phone. This allows me to put the phone down while waiting for customer service as an example. Speaker phone is only half duplex, I can't hear someone talk while I'm talking. So it isn't a great speaker phone. Distance is very good. I can get across a fairly large home without any significant degradation in voice quality. These were inexpensive, and are doing a great job for me and my family. A word of caution, on first use the phones seem to take forever (forever being about half a day to a day) to charge fully. After charged, they seem to take forever to discharge. I have kept my phone out for almost a week, and am still at half charge. These aren't the most stylish phones, the yellow helps make them easier to read in dark settings. If you need good voice quality, long battery life, and good distance at a reasonable price this may be what you want.

Not hearing aid compatible,
By
This review is from: Uniden DECT 6.0 Silver Cordless Digital Answering System with Caller ID and Four Handsets (DECT1580-4) (Office Product)
After doing a lot of research and querying the company's product support, I was assured that all Uniden products were hearing aid compatible. On that basis I purchased the DECT 1580-4 phone set. It does indeed have a T-coil setting; however, when I set my hearing aid to T-coil, I get a loud buzzing. When I set the phone to T-coil mode, the buzzing just gets louder. My hearing aids work just fine on T-coil with my cell phone, with other corded and older cordless phones but not with these. I'm able to get by without switching my hearing aids to T-coil and using the phones in speaker phone mode, but if you need to use T-coil with your hearing aids in order to hear, be sure that there is a no cost return policy at the store you purchase the phones from so you can test them with your aids. The first phones I tried were Vtech and they don't even claim to be hearing aid compatible.
The other features of the phone are nice and I get no static from wi-fi or other electrical equipment.
