Caller ID/call waiting compatible, the DCT6485-2 can store up to 100 caller ID numbers, while the display-and-dial feature lets you easily scroll through the list of calls and dial with the touch of a button. A redial button lets you easily call one of the last three outgoing numbers.
The digital answering system features full remote operation, allowing you to check messages while away from the home or office. Voice prompts help guide you through setup, while play/stop, skip, delete, and repeat keys help you navigate through your messages. A memo record feature is provided, and the conversation record feature lets you record important conversations or information such as driving directions. Twenty distinctive ringer options are provided, while a visual voice mail indicator on the base lets you know when you have message waiting.
Handset and ringer volume controls allow you to easily adjust the phone's settings to your liking. The DCT6485-2 is headset compatible (a belt clip is provided for hands-free operation), while a room/baby monitoring setting lets you hear audio from another handset location. A page button on the base makes finding a lost handset quick and painless, and the menu-driven handset LCD makes operation easy.
Both tone and pulse dialing modes are provided in case you need to switch to one or the other. With the auto-talk feature turned on, you can answer calls simply by removing the phone from its cradle, and the flash/talk button lets you switch to an incoming call (requires subscription to a fee-based service) and put the current conversation on hold. An autoscan feature automatically detects the best channel available. Wall mountable, the DCT6485-2 also comes with both a handset and base speakerphone and is backed with a one-year warranty on both parts and labor.

Basics:We just got this phone yesterday so I haven't used it a ton yet, but so far it is great. The system was fairly straight forward to set up. I did have to look at the manual in order to get the outgoing message set and decided to read on to make sure I knew how to use all the functions. Wow! What a ton of functions. The phone is also stylish and seems to be durable construction. The price seems very reasonable considering all the features, 2.4GHz frequency, multiple handsets and digital answering machine. One Problem: Functions: Additional Handsets:

The only thing about this phone that hasn't blown me away is the reception. There is a faint hum at all times on the line. Nothing horrible but if you are super picky, it will drive you nuts. Other than that, this phone ROCKS! Easy to set up and use and the feature set is second to none. For the price, this is by far the best phone value on the market!! Pros Cons. If I had known everything I know now about this phone when I placed the order, I would have still purchased it. So far, it's fantastic!!

Compact/Stylish/lots of features/clear reception,

I gotta say that the first thing I thought when I opened the shipping box was, "dam they sent be the wrong phone". But I realized that everything I needed was packed into a very little box. Little did I know that this phone was sooo small. The pictures online are definetly decieving because the handsets are about the same size as a cell phone. I Don't want you to think that I'm knocking the phone, I'm happy that the phone is so small. The base fits nicely on my nightstand without taking up a lot of room and the phones slide in and out of my pockets easily especially when I'm outside cleaning my car. The phones and base are also stylish and I like the bright background light which is a bright orange. Who needs a flashlight! just kidding.I have to point out that the Directlink mode which is the two way radio option works nice as long as I don't venture more than a block from my home. After a block I loose reception, but I live in the city where there are plenty of buildings and obsticles keeping a free line of reception. It is true that the digital answering machine is very clear both outgoing and incoming messages. I can't get enough of the handset speakerphone it's so clear that no one can guess that I have them on speaker. And if i leave both phones downstairs I can still use the base on speakerphone to make a call. Sweet! I like that fact that I can check/delete my messages from work or friends house. But if im home I can easily check my messages using the handset by just pressing one button. One additional thing that I like is the battery. This device uses a NI-MH battery which holds up better when your constantly putting the phone on and off the base charger. Phones that use NI-CD batteries loose there "juice" after a period of time, usually a short time of like 4 months. Not to mention with NI-CD batteries you have to let them drain to empty before you put it back on the charger how inconvienent. Good thing this phone uses NI-MH!! Hope this helps if I find more cool things I'll be sure to post. Peace.
