Pros-

* The battery life kicks a$$ (#1 feature). The specs show 16 hours talk time, and it seems pretty close to meeting those claims.

* Call clarity seems pretty good. People can always hear me, whether it's the speaker phone or ear piece.

* No WiFi interference whatsoever

* The ability to turn the phone off (like a cell phone) to conserve batteries is cool. However, this is a non-issue because the battery kicks a$$.

* Low cost

* Bolero ring tone

* The lady's voice on the answering message has a lovely English accent

Cons-

* When the caller ID display shows a call from outside your area code, the dial feature doesn't automatically add a 1 in front of the displayed phone number. Essentially, you will have to dial the number yourself, adding your own 1 before the area code.

* If you are redialing someone that has the *82 thing(unblock your phone number), sometimes the phone dials too fast, resulting in a non-call. If you redial again (multi-step process), then it works, weird.

There are a few other minor quirks, such as the slightly stiff and non-lit keys, and lack of conference calls (using 2 phones at one time), but the phone is definitely usable.

Sound quality of handsets is great. I was a little disappointed that the handsets did not have illuminated keys and that the answering system only holds 14 one minute messages. The DECT 6.0 transmission frequency works as advertized. It does not interfere with Wi-Fi connections which is the main reason I purchased this system.

I have had two problems with my phones over the years. First I have DSL and was getting interferance and second it seems every phone system I get lasts about a year and the batteries start failing. I did a ton of research before replacing my last phone and settled on the Uniden. The handsets have extremely long battery life and range and with DECT 6.0 I get crystal clear reception with no interferance.

I gave it 5 stars just for that, but there are a couple things that keep it from being perfect. The biggest thing I've found is when I'm on the phone and want someone else to pickup another handset and join the conversation there doesn't seem to be a way to do that. It just tells you the phone line is in use and you're locked out. The other is minor, but I haven't been able to clear the "new calls" display...I'm sure there is a way, but I haven't been able to find it in the manual.

Bottom line is the new DECT 6.0 is great and provide awesome clarity and the battery life of 17 hours is accurate.

We've had this phone for a while now, and it works well! Zero interference, and a very good battery life. Call quality is clear, and we just really haven't had any issues with it. Interestingly, the DECT phones are used like crazy in Europe, and I think that's probably the reason that the answering machine has an English accent!

The phone works great. It's loud and clear. I ordered 2 extra headsets for a total of 5. You can name the handsets by their location and make intercom calls to the different headsets. You can enter your phone numbers into one headset and transfer them to the other headsets.

Note: Time is a 24 hr clock and the date is dd/mm/yy so today is 21/12/07.
The headsets only hold 24 digits per entry. So you can not store both a calling card number with the phone number. You can store the calling card number as and entry and then dial the number you want. Per tech support the DECT-2080 solves this problem. 10-10-987 numbers work fine.

Phone works as advertised, but one of the handset was defective.
The call I placed to their help line is the stuff nightmares are made of: the first time I waited half an hour and the line got disconnected; the second time I had to wait for more then 40 minutes to be finally insulted by an aggressive lady who hang up on me because I had to go and grab the box in the basement (30 seconds flat).
The tird time I was on hold for almost an hour and had to hang up.
I still don't know what to do with the defective handset.

This phone doesn't have everything, except it does have the clearest signal of any I've used before.

Unfortunately I found a better price locally after my order already shipped. If you are a Sams Club member the price could be as low as $20 less.

Aside from price there are a lot of neat features with the phone. One that could be made clearer deals with the "rings to answer" that you know from other phone answering systems. They call it something else, ring delay. The manual did not explain this and the "ring delay" is set up to pick-up after your choice of 10, 20, 30 seconds... it really didn't make sense, especially having owned another Uniden phone answering system where it was called "rings to answer" and you choose 4 rings or whatever you want.

This is a great cordless phone set.

Pros:
-I've never heard static on this phone, even near my microwave, baby monitor, Wi-Fi, etc.
-Battery life is great so you don't have to leave them on the charging stations most of the time.
-Speakerphone is good. (as good as any I've used but of course not as good as using the regular phone speaker.)
-Long range - I've gone outside to get the mail on the phone and still sounds good.
-Easy to use.
-You can program different ring tones for different incoming callers..e.g. your wife has X ring tone, your buddy has Y ring tone, your mistress has ....just kidding.
-The handsets are small but not too small.
-The charging stations are small, so you can put them pretty much anywhere.

Cons:
-No headset jack. A bummer for me because I like to pocket the phone and walk around hands free. Speakerphone is ok...but I prefer a headset.
-The answering machine has good but not great storage space... like 18 messages maybe. That's enough but it's not awesome.

Bottom line: A great cordless phone set with great sound and no interference.

We love our phone system!!! We have had this for the past couple of years and this phone still works like brand new!! We love the fact that it is small, and lightweight like our cell phone and we can slip it into our pocket as we walk around the house. The sound quality is fantastic, outside in the front or back yard, over at the neighbors house, great!!!
