I bought this to replace an old Uniden EXA1978 900 mhz cordless phone with digital answering machine. The 1580 is equal or better in all aspects but lacks an input jack for a headset. I thought this would be a deal breaker but the addition of a speaker phone on the handset (I feel) makes up for this. My only other complaint which is a complaint about all digital answering machines is that you cannot turn off the volume of the base when someone leaves a message. You can only lower the volume to 1 which still allows you to hear someone leaving you a message. Not great when you're a light sleeper and you get a wrong number in the middle of the night. For what it is worth, you can turn off the ringers on both the base and handset. And you could turn the answer function off which would prevent the scenario just described. Sound quality and reception is excellent. Overall, I think the phone is fine for the money. Amazon's price at the time of this writing is competitive with a local box store that starts with a W.

This is the best phone that I've ever owned. The handset shows the time, it blinks if someone has left you a message, in case you're not near the answering machine, it's extremely easy to add calls to the phonebook, bright easy to read large display, several ring tones to pick from, answering machine is great. Volume and ring level is loud, sound is clear, I can be quite a distance from the base and it works great.

this is a great phone for the money. other phones can cost more but i think its just for the design. it comes with all the needed features; caller id, answering system, speaker phone, and it is expandable. so priced under $30, its well worth it every penny.

My mother needed a cordless phone for her house. Despite the myriads of bad reviews I bought it for Christmas. It was only $34 bucks. It worked flawlessly. My mother is delighted with it. The voice quality is first rate and the range is more that adequate. Don't listen to the naysayers. It is a very good quality phone for the price.

I bought this phone for my office because it is EASY to use, so easy you do not really need to read the instructions. You can look at the buttons and see what to do. The sound quality and range are very good for an inexpensive phone. It is easy to retrieve and delete messages, and to store phone numbers. Great value! Would also be good for an older person because the operation is quite intuitive.

Phone came very quickly and was packaged well. Had a phone and needed the answering machine too. Especially like the speaker phone feature. This has been a great purchase for me.

I am very pleased with my purchase. No problems with the phone for the good price. Sometimes there is a faint static in the background. However, I have a lot lof wireless devices in my home which could be interfering. It is nothing that would make me get rid of the phone and it doesn't create enough of a disturbance so that I cannot hear who I am talking too. The battery life is excellent. I leave it off of the charger all night and use it the next day with no problems. I especially like that I can very easily turn off the ringer on both the handset and the base.

You don't normally combine excellent and cheap in one sentence, but this Uniden Dect 6.0 can hold its own. Sound quality is good, very clear, no static, no noise, nothing garbled. One reviewer's DSL connection didn't go well with his phone. Mine does with no interference whatsoever with the internet/computer. My 10-year old cordless Uniden is still good, except for its irreplaceable, dying, battery. The battery for this one is replaceable.

Works awesome. I've had it for over a year now, no issues whatsoever. Sound quality is good (unlike say AT&T phones where you move the phone by half an inch and you can hear nothing), microphone is good, speaker-phone mode is good. Battery lasts through two-hour meetings on speakerphone, I've never run it down yet.

The "killer feature" for me is that it can be configured to answering the call just by picking up the handest from the cradle, without pressing any buttons, and hanging up by placing it back in the cradle. However it's not enabled by default, you need to go into the handset menu to enable it (Handset Setup, Autotalk).

When someone was trying to give me a phone number over my Uniden phone, the sound was so broken up that I couldn't get it. I had to go to my old Panasonic that has been working beautifully for 14 years. I'm returning my new Uniden today.
