Uniden DECT2080 DECT 6.0 Cordless Phone/Digital Answering System with Caller ID

I needed just a phone with a digital answering machine. This was it! Not a kazillion extralines, just an answerinf machine a one phone handset and caller id. Perfect!

Before this phone I had a set of two Unidem 2,4ghz with answering machine and caller ID, now I have the old set and this brand new DECT 6 from the smae manufacterer, They are getting better in some aspects, first at all, you can see the phone number who is calling all the time in the screen, with the older it was show ust for 1 o 2 seconds, so the caller ID is uselesss in the old model, other improvement is the design, the base and the handset look great, it say, this is a new model, one of the good things in the new desing is the hide the antenna. Other good detail is the iluminated keypad while you are in a call or want to. Final tought, the ahndset have a speakerphone for handsfree talk and you can see the battery status on the screen. Good phone, buy with confidence, you'll love it.

No problems with the typical issues a phone may have. No call quality issue, no range issue, no battery life issue. Best phone we've ever had.

This phone is everything I wanted and hoped for. It was easy enough for me to set up and understand the instruction booklet. It's appearance is exactly as shown, which is what I'd been looking for.

I have had this phone for several years and have disliked it from day one. I've held onto it this long only because I didn't want to spend more money on a new one but I am finally fed up. Here's why:

Problems
-phone randomly cuts out with 'out of range' message when I am only 5 feet from base (VERY FRUSTRATING)
-search feature makes the base ring as well as the phone (how am I suppose to find the phone when the base is ringing so loudly?)
-some buttons stopped working within first 6 months (I can't turn volume up or down and can't check caller id)
-does not hold a charge very long (yes I realize that after several years of use I may need to buy a new battery but it never did hold a good charge)
-makes me listen to entire message before I can delete it (nitpicky yes, but still annoying)
-when someone calls and hangs up just as the machine is picking up the machine does not cut of the message, instead I hear about a minute of really loud dial tone (frustrating when you just about have your colicky 1 month old to sleep)

I am very disappointed with this phone. Uniden phones I've had in the past have been great. Because of this one, I probably will not buy another Uniden phone. Think I'll try Panasonic.

I have only had this phone for a month or so. I have not tried all the functions, just plugged it in and started using it. It is comfortable, the signal quality is excellent and has all the basic convenient features. It is lightweight but not cheap looking.

Uniden used to be one of the best. I'm not pleased with this phone. A lot of static noise - very hard to hear the other person - sounds like they are far away. Tried switching channels and usually doesn't help. Not that impressed with DECT technology. Although the answering system is very easy to use and works great.

Excellent phone, fantastic value. Highly recommend. My technically challenged 82-year old mother loves it.

This is a great phone but I definitely would not pay $129 for it unless it came with at least 4 other handsets.

I paid $20 for it at Big Lots with one single handset and it was $50 a Wal-Mart.

No idea where the $129 price came in to play.

Anyway, it's still a great phone and a friend of mine bought one also and absolutely loves it and is angry he didn't buy two the day we saw them at Big Lots, and I was kinda bummed out as well.

Good product at a reasonable price - lots of features in a compact package that meets all expectations and more.
