Excellent product... too bad it's DECT 6.0,

Pro: Very innovative product, excellent for outdoors, especially pools and spas, as well as kitchens, bathrooms and laundry areas. No interference from other devices, including wireless broadband.
Con: Does not display the current time, as the packaging leads one to believe. And it suffers from the same problem that all DECT 6.0 cordless phones seem to: lack of range. Those phones start cutting out about 50-75 feet from the base, or closer if I open my refrigerator door or get a motor vehicle between the base and handset. If you want range, go with multiple DECT base units scattered about your residence or stick with 5.8 GHz Spread-Spectrum cordless phones.

Best Cordless Phone I've Owned,
By
This review is from: Uniden DWX207 DECT 6.0 Waterproof Accessory Handset and Charging Cradle (Office Product)
I've had a lot of cordless phones because I'm always looking for that one phone that's as good as a land line. I'm looking no more. I usually don't write reviews, but the quality of this phone had me searching for a site to review it. I have WiFi and other electronics that could interfere with the phone. This phone has absolutely no static. I could care less about the water feature, I just wanted a phone without static. You will not regret purchasing this phone. I bought the base which is the WXI2077 and linked this phone too it. Buy it, you will not regret it.

I got this for my husband to keep in his garage "man cave." I am not really allowed out there and before we had this additional phone, I would have to go out there just to ask him something and he would get irritated that I was intruding on his space. Now, I just use the intercom feature and I don't have to go in and out the back door just to ask a question. Everybody is happy. It also helps this phone is sealed up for water-tightness because he does use a table saw, etc and I wouldn't want a phone out there that would ruin from the sawdust and humidity.
This phone works with the Uniden DECT 6.0 set of phones. You must already have a set of those phones and that set must be expandable to include this additional accessory. I have the set that came with 5 phones, but was expandable up to a 6th phone and this phone is now my 6th. I cannot attest to the "waterproof" aspect of this phone, yet, but it will be used poolside, so if there are any issues over the summer, I will update.

I love the idea for this. It's a wonderfully unique concept making a phone that's waterproof. First off, I have to report I don't use it for the pool or spa, so I can't remark on how well it works there. I bought it for the shower so I wouldn't have to slosh across my carpet to answer the phone. For that purpose, the phone is ideal. A word of warning, however: There is a button on the bottom of the phone that signs tell you to press before charging the first time. There's nothing that indicates if you did it right or not. I apparently did not, though I pushed it quite hard. After charging overnight I couldn't get the phone to work. The only way I got it working was by taking out the original boxing and digging out the little plastic tab that's under the "Press Here" sign. I put the tab directly into the hole on the bottom of the phone (rather than pressing it through the cardboard box as the sign seems to indicate) and voila!

I purchased the Uniden DWX207 DECT 6.0 Waterproof Accessory Handset and Charging Cradle at the same time as the base unit. I definitely understand the frustration other people have experienced with registering the accessory with the primary base unit. Trying to read the instructions that came with the accessory unit was a nightmare. If the unit didn't register the only troubleshooting help was to try the same impossible to understand steps again.
I really was about to throw in the towel and took some time to set up the additional features on the base unit (such as phone book and ring tone) just to take a break from the problem. I was really glad I did. The directions on adding an accessory were much more clear when reading the manual included with the base unit. First, you have to unplug the base phone (either from the wall or by removing the connection at the base of the cradle). Second, there is a "Find" button on cradle -- you can't see it with the phone in the cradle as it's located on the front of the cradle where the phone would be leaning against it if it was charging. Hold down the find button at the same time as plugging your phone back in. Once that's done hold down the pound button on the accessory phone until it reads that it's registering. Place it in the cradle for the base. Voila -- the phone should register. Once that step was done everything else was really easy -- you share the phone book through the menu, can easily set up different ring tones for the numbers in your phone book, etc. etc. As far as the quality of the product, my test was calling my dad. With my previous phone he always complained about hearing static -- with this phone he said he had no problems and that I came across very clear. That was true even after I'd already dropped the handset once. All in all I'm happy with my purchase. It's not the best looking phone but I knew that when buying it -- I wanted something that was sturdy, not overly expensive, and something without a lot of features (such as an answering machine) that I didn't need. This definitely works for me!

Uniden has horrible customer service,

I purchased this phone 13 months ago as well as an additional handset. The rubber began coming off about 3 months ago and now the other handset is beginning to do the same. I called Uniden to let them know so they may take note of it for future models. I spoke to I believe, someone that obviously hated their job. I called back to speak to a supervisor for now my dissatisfaction with the phone, but the service I have received. Currently, I have been on hold for 27 minutes... most likely to get folks to hang up before they have to deal with people. After years of using Uniden phones, I will no longer purchase.

Uniden 6.0GHz Waterproof Phone,

I currently own a Uniden 5.8 GHz base and 3 handsets in addition to this Uniden 6.0GHz base and 2 handsets.
The performance level of the 6.0 Vs the 5.8 is markedly better. The 6.0 is clear, static-free with an effective range of 220ft+. The 5.8 was useless beyond 30ft, reception was highly directional, static-prone and would cut out unless you held your head at just the right angle.

Uniden scores a home run..!,
This review is from: Uniden DWX207 DECT 6.0 Waterproof Accessory Handset and Charging Cradle (Office Product)
I purchased this phone as a second phone to mate with my Uniden WX12077 Series house phone. I was attracted to this phone for several reasons. First I am a large man and prefer to have a phone which has some weight to it. This phone feels comfortable and solid in my hand, my wife also prefers the weight and feel of this phone over all the others we tried. Second, the phone is waterproof. I can have this phone by the pool, with my grandsons playing, with no worries. My wife can keep it in reach while doing dishes or taking a shower, no problem. Third, the color is perfect. I am forgetful and tend to leave the phone where I last used it. This phone is no problem to find. It has all the features which I wanted on a phone and has very good battery life and excellent clarity anywhere, in the house, the front yard, or back yard.
The Uniden DWX207 DECT 6.0 does not come with an answering machine. My digital phone provider offers voicemail as part of their service so, I did not want or need an answering machine. One slight problem. The phone is shipped with a small black pin in the base. The instructions tell you to depress the black pin to activate the phone before charging. The black pin has cardboard between it and the phone to prevent accidental activation during shipping. If you do not remove the cardboard before depressing the black button the phone will not charge. The phone will display the message "Welcome please wait" until the battery is fully charged. The instructions do not tell you to remove the cardboard. I highly recommend this phone. It is durable and well made. It is easy to use and has all the features you could want except an answering machine.

No Customer Service!,

This review is from: Uniden DWX207 DECT 6.0 Waterproof Accessory Handset and Charging Cradle (Office Product)
We have the Uniden cordless phone, and recently had some problems with the battery lasting less than a day on a charge. Consequently, I tried to call customer service, however Uniden only offers email customer service. I finally found a Texas number for them where one has to pay to call them
This is a far cry from Panasonic or Sony which both offer free, toll-free support. Apparently, Uniden is too cheap to offer a toll-free support number, and they want you to pay for the phone call. To add insult to injury, when I did finally call their pay support number, I had to wait twenty minutes for someone to answer. Simply pathetic. I would avoid this company. Apparently Uniden does not want to put any money towards customers, so why should customers pay for their phones?

I got this phone today and everything seems to be working fine. The main problem is the instructions are as clear as mud, to register it. Obviously it doesn't fit into the base for the other phones. The instructions say to press the menu button on the unit to go to the registering screen. The menu button does nothing when the phone is stuck on the "not registered" screen. Quite by accident, when I went to plug it in to charge while I hunted down real instructions, I discovered that putting it on the charger made the phone look for the base. Which failed, since I wasn't near the base station to do the other half of the instructions. The 1st real attempt failed because I couldn't get the base plugged in and button held down long enough before the phone times out after being places on the charger. So I had to unplug the base, and then simultaneously place the new phone on its charger, plug in the base station, and hold down its FIND button. I managed, but I could have used a 3rd hand.
